The Wests battle cry has long been "to the last Ukranian!". But the West may run out of ammo, before they run out of Ukranians. While this could spell disaster for Ukraine; it also presents a very real danger for Europe in general if Russia decides to push Westward, past Ukraine. And into a Europe who has blown it load, and warfighting supplies in Ukraine...

You cant say "the west" is running out of ammo if you are including the US in this category.

You’re crazy, if you think Russia can out produce the West.

If the Russian performance in Ukraine is any indication, the west has little to worry about.

It would take years for the US, and the West to replenish the quantities of munitions, and supplies it has expended in Ukraine. And would have to do so at a diminished production capacity...

Perhaps... But Russia won't pose much of a threat for years. It's pretty much broken it's military in Ukraine.

The only question now is how do they withdraw gracefully.

The US is on the other side of the planet. And Europe is fighting this war at their mailbox. Besides... It's no small secret that the US doesn't have the production capacity it once had.
Russia doesn’t have near the capacity to match western output and the US being on the other side of the planet is irrelevant.

We're not in a good place.

"According to official Pentagon figures, the United States has also sent to Kyiv more than 800,000 NATO standard 155mm artillery shells, or 75% of the total amount delivered by all Western nations.

The Pentagon has stated that it intends to boost US production of these shells from the current monthly average of 14,000 to 36,000 within the next three years.

The annual production would still only reach 432,000, which is less than half of what has been given to Ukraine over the past seven months."

US ammunition supplies dwindle as Ukraine war depletes stockpiles

'Close to the limit': The US is running out of essential weapons to send to Ukraine

"DoD is struggling to refill its magazines and inventories. In some cases, the systems sent to Ukraine have been out of production for years. Even where there are hot production lines, the demand for some systems far exceeds current production capacity."

"But U.S. stockpiles of some equipment “are reaching minimum levels necessary for military planning and training,” and replenishing stocks to pre-invasion levels could take years, Mark Kanchian of the Center for Strategic and International Studies wrote in a recent analysis."

The Us’s geographic location of production of war supplies is hardly irrelevant. The mere suggestion by you that it is; shows how little you know about warfare… Supply chains, and logistics, are what win wars.

We can afford give Ukraine half our annual output of artillary because, we have years worth of stock. When i was in the military we had explosives storage bunkers along the flightline that had stuff made years before. They do dispose of old ordinance, but only after a long time.

The Russians can’t even provide their soldiers with socks, so don’t make me laugh when it comes to logistics questions.

There’s absolutely no concern to Western Europe from conventional Russian forces. Especially not after they’ve been incredibly depleted in Ukraine.

Don’t be absurd.

Russia is not a threat to the West with this action. It is however in competition to be the world leader.

So when quoting the League of Nations comments concerning Hitler's invasion of Poland...do you really think that people will believe this?

Putin has declared that he wants the USSR back to its former glory days like they had in the 1960's and 70's. (As if they were that glorious)

Also there are several other independent nations that Putin has designs on conquering.

Then there's PRC...they are definitely interested in stirring the pot and getting Russia and the US into a debilitating war...so they can come in and conquer everyone exhausted from fighting.

Yeah… No potential desire for payback of losses at the hands of Western aid, and support. Could never happen…
