Zone1 Mary's Consent

George Washington didn't really chop down a cherry tree either.

If George Washington became King ... and his step-son inherited the throne after him ... then our current King would be Robert E. Lee V ...

But that's kinda an alternative universe type of thing ... step-sons never inherit titles ...

she could easily and successfully claim RAPE. If the "correspondent" could be named--

joseph -

could it be they claimed to be lovers and did as they pleased, mary and joseph whether they were to be stoned to death or not. another reason, true love to not claim they were jewish, in the sense of that religion - those two did not fear moses.

Here comes the "divine will" nonsense when you can't answer the question how it was done. "Oh, I just all of a sudden was pregnant." Just like God willed the universe into existence with no explanation how it was done. The seed of the Father was planted in one of Mary's eggs. Nothing miraculous about it. Heck, today we call it in vitro fertilization. No sex is necessary. And, Mary gave her consent.

So Mary had invitro fertilization 2000 years ago at a time when they were writing on animal skins and papyrus for paper using burnt cork. Got it. :71:

if the impregnation was the result of the Mary betrothed to Joseph---there is
no crime (according to the law of Moses)-----so sorry to disappoint you, breezie

Mary boned another guy (God) and should have been stoned to death per Jewish Law. Oh shit,!
That is the fallacy of the Miracle of Conception

A 14 year old gets pregnant and claims “It wasn’t me, God came in the middle of the night and impregnated me”

What other explanation could there be?

Out of curiosity, why do you think 'God came in the middle of the night'?

Second, we all know how pregnancy occurs. Mary, at age 14, knew how pregnancy occurred--it's the first thing she thought of. She lived at a time a few made a vow of virginity, or in some cases perpetual chastity, and she appears to be one who made the vow of virginity. So...without breaking her vow to God, how could she become pregnant?

Being engaged to Joseph, she probably thought the angel's next words would be, "God is releasing you and Joseph from your vows..." Instead she was told the power of God would overshadow her.

Any fourteen girl of any age (including Mary) knows this explanation would never fly, and she had better come up with something more plausible because very few--if any--would ever believe her. You are one of the many who do not. (Grin. You met expectations! Congratulations!)

What other possible explanation could there be than “God did it”?

How else could a 14 year old girl get pregnant?

Let's look at what Mary did not do. She did not say she had been told by an angel to go to a certain place/man where she was to break her vow, have sex, and conceive a child. She did not give up the story about the angel, either. She did not have voluntary sex with someone other than Joseph, discover she was pregnant, then go entice Joseph into having sex with her so she could claim her intended was the father.

As a Christian can you acknowledge the possibility that Mary got pregnant the natural way and was fibbing?

I know you are required to have faith, but could there be another possible explanation?

The problem with asking me that is that I have experienced my own miracle. How can I believe my own miracle and tell someone else their miracle has "another possible explanation"?

What I can say is I very much acknowledge miracles are very rare, and those who have not experienced one will naturally reach the conclusion that Mary got pregnant the natural way and outright lied. Therefore, loyal early Christians stood behind what had to be lie. They even added to it, right?--After being crucified, her son rose from the dead! What other possible explanation can there be...for those who have not experienced miracles and cannot believe in them.

Because even if we agreed Joseph was the father ... you'd still be a [Zone 1 self-censored] to folks that disagree with you ... "Love you brother as you love yourself" has nothing to do with your [Zone 1 self-censored] ...

Nice haircut BTW ... [giggle] ...

what makes you think mary lied about being pregnant - they, like you would have stoned her to death had she not - for her true relationship w/ joseph that, their punishment did not occur. mary stood her ground in admission of their true love.

the opening scene of the 1st century events is its own statement from the beginning - the three wise men from the heavens they were heavily armed and saw the bravery of mary the local zealots took note and all ended well.

a crime only in the eyes of the liar moses, judaism - is the point made by the initial stage of the 1st century events theirs was a betrothal of love either could go their separate ways they never were married as jews and lived happily ever after.

the liberation theology, self determination of those two individuals and those that gave their lives in the 1st century is the lost heavenly personification made so by the very people that wrote the christian bible. the repudiation of judaism's false commandments, hereditary idolatry et al that had permeated their religion.

ooh, this is the Mormon God who went around getting laid, eh?
No, this is the real God in Heaven. You nutjobs who love black magic with Merlin the Magician and priestcrafts making up stuff. I at least have a legit logical explanation. You have nothing but "willed" it into existence. Nonsense.
