I will offer my invaluable insights. Dogs are not highly prized as loving affectionate animals in the Middle east historically.
They have been used for their value in GUARDING things----
and BARKING AN ALARM thus they are a bit VICIOUS. Muhummad specifically did not like dogs. There is a line
in the Talmud which advises people not to keep dogs in their
homes -----because so many people are AFRAID OF THEM.
Muhummad did LIKE CATS. Thus he decided that dogs are
"UNCLEAN" (in fact they are no more unclean or disease
carrying than are cats-----but he thought so) Thus the proscription on dogs invented by muhummad was both personal and cultural (IMHO) Since muslims EMULATE
muhummad-----they do not like dogs but they like cats. and
the color green which was muhummad's fave. READ YOUR KORAN!!!! As far as the USA is concerned----I am terrified of dogs------but make no comment on your right to own one or walk one -----I have objected to people letting them loose to run around the neighborhood
