Should Trump go to jail for mishandling classified information?

How do you know? I have a ton of empty Manila folder that once held important documents. Maybe those classified docs that Trump flushed while in the White House originally had a folder which Trump kept. Or maybe he had a stack of blank folders in the resolute desk so if he wrote a letter or signed a document they could file them away in the designated folder. Don’t know, I’m spitballing here.

If they were just empty folders, then Trumps lawyers would have surely turned them over, as there is actually no legal jeopardy to having them. And as they were the subject of a subpoena, there was no reason to retain them.

So the folders were empty? I see cover sheets in the released picture, can't tell if they are actually covering anything. But if so called folders were empty to hide what ever was inside why not dispose of the tell tale cover sheets? Seems odd. And I worked in Communications Security in a facility that had open storage of TS material.

Extra classifed document folders? Um....no. That's not how it's done. And nothing was as low as "confidential".

The punishment must be much more severe, but the authorities need to be confident they can move against Trump without causing consequences that are unacceptable. He's not worth thousands of dead Americans in the streets, and there's little doubt that's what Trump intends.

At the moment it appears that Trump will go down with a whimper, instead of big bangs.
