Seventeen Wendy's Employees Quit Right On The Spot.

2 weeks notice it too long. 3 days is more than sufficient. $14.77 today is a joke. I fully support them in every aspect of this story. The emoyees owed the place nothing. Not even a notice in this case.
$14.77 is a joke? For unskilled labor?

I make $14.14 as a government contractor. Staring salary where by wife works is $14.00.

You need to get out more and get a grip on reality!

Sure do when the circuits dont work. Especually when they work from home and just go off old outdated prints.

We bail you overpaid engineers all the time. Engineers should have to work 2 years in the field with us so you spot screwing shit up.

And construction workers should be checked for alcohol at the start of every shift, and end, especially ironworkers.

I find it really hard to empathize with someone whos ambition led them to fry cook status.

Time to grow up and GET A REAL JOB.

Leave that shit for teenagers and bored retirees

You are one of them. Yup. Seen them many times. God's greatest gift to the world. YOU LOWLY WORKERS .......

Yeah. A Snob. Who lives on a computer and sends our prints and goes it's EVERYONE'S FAULT BUT ME. I've seen your kind for a long time. Sorry. Not impressed.

We build America. And red line to make it work when an Arrogant Engineer screws up the prints.

This is how they destroy the middle class. Our pay doesn't go up and we are skilled labor. Of course we need to ask permission from Marty to see if we qualify for that. Cost goes up and we get screwed. You know Communism 101

Working fast food is not a ******* skill. That is LAUGHABLE.

You work for a union? If so that's why.
You work for yourself or a private shop? That's on you
I work for a small company at a very large refiney. You know that evil stuff that keeps cars and trucks driving down the road. The same people that believe Pixie dust will get them there.

It IS NOT A UNION. We are a at will State. My pay is lower because I prefer to be home. Make more on the road.

So you made a personal choice that impacted your salary. I did the same about 15 years ago and you won't catch me complaining about it.

I was complaining about INFLATION YA DUMMY. When they get paid that kind of money the prices go up as OUR PAY DOESN'T.

Which was the point.

Inflation is not a money making scheme for employers so why are they supposed to just absorb the hit and raise your pay? I don't get it.
Inflation affects all of us. Your boss doesn't suddenly have more money because of Inflation

Yawn . You missed the point. MY DANG COMPLAINT IS GOV'T NOT BUSINESS.

And yes it affects your ass as well.

Very interesting job market!

Neighbor who retired from a medical position over 5 years ago found herself in a bidding war to lure her back (at 70+ years of age) to work. She just accepted $40/hour but made it clear it was only a pre-Christmas gig and still she was welcomed. 10 hour/day for sticking needles in people.

Personally, I've been retired for 24 years and of late have been pitched o "Linkedin" typically 3 times a week to get back into paid work. These days I don't need the income but enjoy doing pro-bono now and again but I DO wonder how high an offer it might take for it to become irresistible. The typical offer is $500/day but I don't think temptation would rear its ugly head until somewhere around double that. And even then.......

Worked operations, worked design, and construction, and ran sampling teams in wastewater, all facets.

Worker is given a harness, told to wear it and use tie offs, decides to not tie off switching from one scaffold to another, falls, survives, but wins 6+ figures from the government agency because the law makes him not liable even though he was trained, equipped, and was being watched most of the day.

Find garbage cans full of beer cans, say something, end up with all porta-sans smeared with shit.

I don't even have the right to direct the workers, because the chain of command says I deal with the construction company, (unless it's an IDLH) and they are supposed to deal with you guys. I've seen a safety guy have a hammer thrown at his head because he told a guy he wasn't using a ladder properly (on the top 2 rungs). I've seen a safety guy called a ****** for telling guys to wear their hardhats and glasses. I've seen guys flouting safety rules repeatedly, and you wonder why safety guys can have a pissy attitude.

Well stop ******* shit up on the prints then.

What you should be working off of is the shop drawings, not the contract drawings. The shop drawings are the responsibility of the contractor, not the designer.

Not in a refinery. But you are correct that at times the prints are preliminary for a bid and then issued for construction. Most of my redlines are that they didn't look at the job. Points on the circuit cards taken. Not looking at the actual card seeing it needs 24 vdc to make it work. Or relay configurations dont' work.

To me. I've had a lot of training and many years of experience. Red lining the problems is easy to me. But I did 10 years Navy with a whole lot of training.
