Serious Question for MAGA

The question as posted was about and directed to Maga Republicans.

It was intentional framing by the OP, establishing the narrative that this destruction was somehow our fault. Mac1958 is using the same devices the media uses... Intentionally? I can't say.

Then he uses the soft word "perception" to further that narrative. This is the covert bias formula of the pre-Trump biased media. Set the narrative, use carefully selected phraseology.

I'm letting him know he isn't fooling anyone that is actually paying attention.

The media today is overtly biased. They used to be covertly biased, but the modern news media doesn't attempt a thin veneer of objectivity.

That's their fault, not mine.

I don't trust their institution because they have lied to my face to pursue political objectives.

No sane person has faith in an institution that has proven itself to be untrustworthy.

If the Legacy Media wants trust, they are going to have to do what everyone else must do... earn it.

But instead, they double down on deception and partisanship.

And I say... let them die.

Something better will eventually supplant them.

Well, our problems aren't really problems for those who are profiting from them. Crime isn't a problem for those who are employed in law enforcement. Illness isn't a problem for those employed in the healthcare industry. The dumbing down of America isn't a problem for those employed in the educational industry, etc.
you make a very relevant point in that it's who this economy is greasing Woodz S~

Does it ultimately divide the country to a point at which it literally becomes two or more separate countries?

And how would you feel about that?
We are already essentially two separate countries.

We stopped being united when we all succumbed to this tribal style of politics. Institutions are governed by political agenda not by the base charge of serving all of America indiscriminately.

Actually the two parties are united. Both are destroying the country while posing as saviors.

I think the distrust is directly related to the political divide. As long as we remain polarized, we risk a deepening gap. Ive said it before, at some point, we the people are going to have to start finding common ground. Thats the point at which healing starts.
How do Lions find “common ground” with Gazelles?

Yes, most people, and that includes MAGA, Independents and even some rational democrat voters, don't like how corrupted almost all US institutions have become. They are right not to blindly trust anything that can easily be corrupted for political and/or financial gain. This mistrust should keep those institutions from straying too far. What scares people the most is that many of these corrupted institutions have aligned with one single political party. Nothing scares me more than to see almost all MSM aligned with just one political party, Big Corporations aligned with one political party, The judicial system overwhelming aligned with one political party, most 3 letter agencies aligned with one political party, the entire educational system aligned with one political party, and so on. This is a breeding ground ripe for fascism. It will and should continue to be a dividing issue until those who seem to love everything associated with power and control coalescing around a single political party wake up and see just how dangerous that is.

Based on that, we're seeing a general divergence in America's ability to look at a number or a result or a "fact" and agree on what it is. I'm actually not sure if MAGA considers that to be a good thing or a bad thing, so please comment on that.
Lol. Not to mention agreement on the meaning of words...

The issue, when it comes to public dialogue, is that partisans "cherry-pick" the facts - and for my purposes I will assume they are facts - focusing on the ones that support their Narrative.

Case in point: Homicides in the District of Columbia. The Right points out that the D.C. homicide rate would be the worst in the nation if D.C. were a State. That is a FACT. The Left points out that the homicide rate in D.C. is less than it was last year. That is also a FACT.

The problem is not the reporting of facts, or even the selective reporting of facts. The problem is that in our age of unfettered "advocacy" the public simply accepts the fact that partisans are full of shit. They are never held to account. It's OK because they are understood to be partisans.

Again, case in point: Senator (then Congressman) Adam Schiff lied his ass off about Russia collusion...claimed that as a member of Congress he was privy to facts unknown to the public that PROVED Trump's campaign conspired with operatives of the Russian Federation to cook the election. Now we know [many of us have known for years] that these claims were all LIES. Not differences of opinion, not slanted understandings, but LIES. And he pays no price. We are expected to simply move along and ignore what he did, because, you know, he was just a partisan politician doing what partisan politicians do.

I refuse. Lying in public is unacceptable, and people like that, regardless of what side of the Divide he occupies, should be shunned, and removed if possible.
So, you're cherry picking an incident?

Way to go.

Otoh Israel haters are cast in stone themselves

They blame Israel for the violence in Gaza when its the Pals who are at fault
I suppose that's why Netanyahu the chief Israeli genocider had an arrest warrant issued by an international court for something.

War crimes? Crimes against humanity? Ethnic cleansing?

I forget. But we don't want to blame him, right? Those judges are just haters. Nothing like the quality of the Nuremberg Justices.

15th post
It began the day Jews accepted the two state compromise mandated by the UN that arabs rejected
Are you a Jew? Did you accept it? I thought it began the day the Israelis established themselves as invaders and land thieves in their search for Lebensraum.
