Yes. The popular belief system in this country believes it's always right, and any individual not subscribing to it is evil and wrong. It's been this way for almost 250 years. 🥱
What in the world are you talking about?

The SC will uphold the tariffs as they support everything he does. The economy will be surging. He pays off the deficit. Youre so screwed

Americans’ Deepening Mistrust of Institutions

I want to keep this question as straightforward and benign as I can.

I think we can all agree that LLDs, in general, has a lower level of trust in America's institutions, such as the press, the courts, the government, regulatory bodies and statistical reporting. Let me know if you disagree.

Based on that, we're seeing a general divergence in America's ability to look at a number or a result or a "fact" and agree on what it is. I'm actually not sure if LLDs considers that to be a good thing or a bad thing, so please comment on that.

So, my question(s): What is your long-term opinion of how our society and civilization look like as this continues? What do you suppose happens as the gulf between basic perceptions widens? Is that where you see a literal split in the country, away from 50 states, and is that your goal?

As you can see from this thread and others, the left on this board are exceptionally radicalized.

They are nearly uniform in their belief in the wildest conspiracy theories; most notably that the Holocaust didn't happen, Charlie Kirk's assassination was faked, President Trump's attempted assassination was faked, Trump is a Russian asset, Joe Biden is mentally sharp and physically healthy, Kamala Harris is an intelligent, viable candidate for president, and the Clintons are innocent of all wrongdoing.

This is truly the very outer edge of the leftist fringe (along with their support for the most vile actors on earth - Maduro, Castro, Xi, Putin - and any and all left-wing domestic terrorists), and it is essentially 100% supported here by the leftists.

It's further proof - not that I needed any - of just how radical some Americans have become.
It does not bode well for the near future.

In the end it doesnt matter because he can impose tariffs under other powers. They only ruled he cant call it an emergency.
Wrong. You are all just repeating that same narrative that the other tariff tools at his disposal would replicate the scope and speed of his initial illegal tariffs. They cannot. They’re weak tools.

One of those sections requires a 1 1/2 year investigation by the commerce department before they even try to implement it.

I see moar abuses by the feds and states, along with an erosion of civil rights at the behest of the rich and powerful.
Governments, by nature, are always going to grasp at more power. No restraint, by custom or the written word, can curb that nature only the means by which it acts to do so.
Distrust and disdain are the only tools those outside of government have short of violence.
