Americans’ Deepening Mistrust of Institutions

I want to keep this question as straightforward and benign as I can.

I think we can all agree that LLDs, in general, has a lower level of trust in America's institutions, such as the press, the courts, the government, regulatory bodies and statistical reporting. Let me know if you disagree.

Based on that, we're seeing a general divergence in America's ability to look at a number or a result or a "fact" and agree on what it is. I'm actually not sure if LLDs considers that to be a good thing or a bad thing, so please comment on that.

So, my question(s): What is your long-term opinion of how our society and civilization look like as this continues? What do you suppose happens as the gulf between basic perceptions widens? Is that where you see a literal split in the country, away from 50 states, and is that your goal?

Are you really serious? Is the LLD's that don't trust universities, science, or research? I don't think so. The press? Is it the LLD's that don't trust the press? Or do they not trust the propaganda sites, and yes, I include MSNBC and CNN in that list. I do not include NPR. The courts, is it not the right that is all the time wailing about the courts? Well except for the SCOTUS, plagued with members of the Federalist Society and plagued with unethical behavior from judges like Thomas, Roberts, and Alito. All would be impeached in a real functioning Republic as our founders built it. The government, that was is really comical. Sure, the states can just do without that money but in areas like education, even Medicaid and Medicare cuts, the states will have to cover the difference. I mean are you thinking about HCBS, that is Home and Community Based care services for those that would otherwise be in a nursing home. Like the PACE program. If those programs are cut or eliminated more people are going to be in nursing homes, costing more money. State budgets are going to be looking at some tough choices. Nope, going to be tough telling Mom the Home Health Care nurse can't come by any more and she has to go to a facility, gets maybe twenty dollars a month for incidentals and the government takes the rest of her Social Security check, of course after she has spent down all her savings.

Millions of people are going to see their health care premiums double, even triple, as ACA subsidies are eliminated. Millions more will lose Medicaid. Emergency rooms are going to be full, hospitals are going to be choked from non-payments, and yes, many rural hospitals are going to close. Going to pretty sad when you lose a daughter from complications during childbirth because she was making a two hour drive to a hospital.

And sorry, Trump is deporting criminals but he has a long way to go to even get close to the number of criminals Biden deported last year, and he has a short time to get there. And no, turning someone away at the border does not count as a deportation. By definition, a deportation has to come after someone has been placed in ICE custody.

Democrats opened the border and invited illegals to their states to increase the 2030 census and create voters. What we got was thousands of rapists, child molesters, killers, gangs, drunk drivers, infections, and drug dealers who went right to democrat cities

Crime already high got worse and they covered it up, underreported it and cut the police force. People died and they dint care.

Then we have gender absurdity they cant define a woman but believe a man can change into one. They put men in womens bathrooms and sports.

Biden became the worst president in history destroying everything he touched but the inflation he caused did the most damage. His family of addicts drunks and degenerates didnt help.

Democrats appointed Kamala Harris who cant articulate s thought coherently, accomplished nothing but was woman of color so DEI wins. She caused the worst defeat in democrat history.

Lawfare against Trump made him more popular and they havent stopped yet. Dont they learn from their mistakes.

From what I’ve seen it’s MAGA that doesn’t trust thevpresss, courts or government. Everything is Fake News, activist judges and shrinking government. The left doesn’t do anything to that degree.

Someone may classify me according to his ideological dogma, but I respect free speech, civil discourse, certified democratic elections, our judicial system including trial-by-jury, higher learning, scientific and medical expertise, personal beliefs, and equality without regard to gender, race, creed, or sexual orientation.

I try to understand those who espouse differing ideologies, and eschew the arrogance of imposing my definitions upon those who do.
