Okay CATO is a credible source but they are pure Libertarian (with a capital L) and they have been afflicted with TDS for awhile now. Their opinion, like so many opposing the BBB, looks at the worst case scenarios and draws the most extreme conclusions they can from them.
But the most effective and accurate economists are not swayed by either ideology or politics and look at all factors, not just the bare numbers that do not take into account ripple effects, changes in human behavior, or even the history in these things.
