Schumer Shutdown Question

CRs aren’t for new spending, Shitlips.
You can pleasure yourself with incivility if you need to, but it is within the purview of Republicans to respect the majority support for continuing to allow millions of Americans to afford and keep their healthcare coverage.

Actually, they can't without changing the rules, and Republicans don't like to do that. All they can do is propose negotiations, which Schumer is refusing.
Republicans have not acknowledged that they will represent the position of most Americans regarding the continuation of ACA supports.

And it's within Schumer's purview to respect the majority support for continuing to allow millions of Americans to afford and keep their healthcare coverage. It would appear that it's not a very high priority for him to do so.

How long do you think the shutdown would continue if he stated, "Today I propose to let the CR pass if we add only the extensions of the Covid crisis era subsidies"?

He's not willing to make that statement.

Trump's popularity dips as Americans sweat cost of living, Reuters/Ipsos poll finds

You keep telling us prices aren't going up but every day we see a story about something else going up in price. Your solution is to stop reporting the facts.

Donald Trump’s Support Among Middle Class Crumbling: Poll

We know that 40% of you won't budge. You love him no matter what horrible things he does to you, your family or your country. You just don't care. Like a ******* Notsee in 1939. I get it. Or a Russian in 2025 who likes Putin. I don't want you to change the subject to Hitler on me here. Trumps approval rating went negative in 12 states he won.
I had to really keep searching till I found a positive one for Trump and his poll numbers. USA today. A conservative rag. Fake news. Never had respect for them. LOL. I'm doing a Trump impersonation.

Trump approval rating remains steady despite shutdown woes, poll finds

Trump is in office 9-months. You need to put the blame where it belongs, on stupid Joe Biden. See the chart below, Trump's policies aren't even implemented yet. Biden cost US families $11,400 in lost buying power, that is disastrous.

I posted real polls in post #121, you type lies. Trump is gaining approval, toxic democrats are at a dismal 23%.

Sorry dude but Trump has changed EVERYTHING since January 6th. None of what is happening is Biden's fault.

And wait a second! You seem to be making two different arguments here. Is the economy great or Biden's fault?

Any one actually remember the ACA DEBATE?
Put forward in order to make medical costs more affordable.
Did the Republicans agree with the plan, at that time? NO.
OK, so they oppose it, AT the time more people wanted something done to help costs.
Trump even said he would create something better.
SO EVERY ONE. PUT their finger in the pie. Do not know if the solution with every Repub & Dem adding or subtracting
IMPROVED or made it worse. But it did pass from both party's.
So what do we do now!

Biden caused inflation, which cost US families $11,400 in lost buying power, much of that is food inflation, which is what we are discussing, food prices.

The economy is fine, we can tell from the GDP.
Its the Biden inflation that is the disaster that keeps prices high.

21m people are on the ACA, so IMHO we need to keep them on it by keeping the $35b subsidy and "pay-for" the subsidy with DOGE savings and clawing-back democrat slush funds. We could even rename it Trumpcare by making improvements like Rand Paul suggests like letting people buy it anywhere, such as from Costco or Walmart.

Republicans trying to deprive millions of Americans of their healthcare coverage and refusing to offer proposals is a very unpopular policy.

I’m not rewriting anything, everything I said is absolutely true. Tell me what part is not. The bill was set to expire this year, last year Democrats had the House and Senate and Presidency, they could have extended the healthcare package. They did nothing, absolutely nothing. Where am I rewriting anything?
Not true. The Republicans had the House.

I wasn’t claiming that. I am saying the Dems had a majority in the House, Senate and Presidency. Correct?

They knew Obamacare was going to end at the end of 2025 because Democrats had voted for it to end in 2025. Correct?

The lost the election and lost control of the House, Senate and Presidency starting in 2025. Correct?

They knew the bill was in jeopardy because Republicans were not going to renew it. correct?

Yet for over two months after the election, they did not do one damn thing to extend Obamacare. Correct?

Now, why would Democrats be so stupid not to extend Obamacare as it was their pet project, before the end of their respective terms?

I realize what polls say now but you are going to tell me that this is just a recent turn on events? The Dems didn’t do their job, they were ******* lazy and got caught.

Oh and btw, it was 59% favorable last year.

Now why didn’t the Democrats act and where am I rewriting history because as it stands I am correct in what happened and what happened is those lazy bastard Democrats didn’t do their job and now the Democrats are voting to keep the government closed.
Incorrect. The House was Republican. Nancy got fired in 2022.

Sounds like Schumer should do what he needs to do to give the people what they want. He started the shutdown and is keeping it going.
You Trumpsters are so willing to burn the place down. Well, maybe so are we.

2nd thought. What happened to Trump the master negotiator who ended 7 wars? He can't solve this? Has he even tried? Nope. Off to Asia

When do you suppose Trump should take the training wheels off of his presidency and start taking responsibility for his failures instead of blaming them all on Biden?

The government shutdown remains at a standstill, with the issue at the center being that Democrats demand that Republicans pass extensions for subsidies of the Affordable Care Act.

It makes no sense, I thought it was called the AFFORDABLE Care Act. If it is so affordable, why are subsidies needed? :dunno:

The dems have some explainin' to do.
Well, Republicans have exactly 36 hours to present their replacement plan before the bottom drops out of their ruse and they start losing voters by the millions.

it was kind of a rumor. And I said to Lisa, 'hey, is it true that people re getting letters saying their healthcare premium is going to go up from $600 to $4,000 a month? No, come on,' and she said 'yes, that is true that people in Alaska are going to see those increases,'" Kelly told Stein. "We're going to see people with increases of 200, 300, 400 percent, right? And these people can't afford it."

Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) previously warned of the sky-high cost red state residents would be facing if the ACA premiums aren't renewed. In addition to premiums rising by 346 percent in Alaska, they're also projected to go up by 150 percent in Louisiana; 314 percent in Mississippi; 235 percent in South Dakota; 320 percent in Tennessee; 387 percent in West Virginia and 382 percent in Wyoming.

When do you suppose Trump should take the training wheels off of his presidency and start taking responsibility for his failures instead of blaming them all on Biden?

And why is Trump such a hypocrite? Before he was President he said the President takes responsibility and would get the blame for a shutdown. We have his exact quotes. Why is it okay Trump is such a liar and hypocrite? Reminds me of before he was being indicted he said anyone who pleas the 5th is guilty. Then he's indicted and he's pleading the 5th. Why doesn't the hypocrisy bother Republicans?

Forget Republicans. Why doesn't it bother the independents who decide elections? The people who can go either way each election. How does Trump's lying and hypocrisy not phase them?

Here is another example of Trump's hypocrisy.

The Donald Trump administration insists food benefits can’t go out next month because of a government shutdown initiated by Democrats.

But the last time Trump was in charge during a shutdown, his administration made sure people wouldn’t miss their benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, which supports more than 40 million Americans in low-income households.

Back then: “We want to ensure states and SNAP recipients that the benefits for February will be provided,” Sonny Perdue, then the secretary of agriculture, told reporters at the time.

Now: It’s a stunning contrast with today’s USDA, which has plastered its website with a message warning “the well has run dry” and that there’s no money for November’s benefits.

I love it because many of these idiots voted for Trump. He told them Democrats were giving illegals more welfare than they were getting. Now Trump is ******* them good. I love it!! Starve dumb asses!!! Go sell your body or plasma.

Apparently, it's easier to negotiate with Hamas than with democrats.

Republicans promised they had a better, replacement plan nine years ago. They lied.

You apparently need to blame Democrats for the past rather than see Congress now respect the present will of the People.

I'd just hope to see the millions who would lose their coverage be allowed to keep it if Republicans who control government would agree to it.
Democrats are holding SNAP hostage. They are demanding ACA subsidies for greedy insurance company executives.
