Payroll deductions only "buy" you Part A benefits, and at a healthy discount. The plurality of Medicare benefits are financed out of general revenue.

Essentially, the House vote will be a way for House R's to tell their constituents they voted to extend ACA tax credits knowing all the while Senate R's will end them. One hopes the POT will be held responsible in Nov.
