"Bide our time" while North Korea builds and stockpiles nuclear weapons as fast as their squinchy-eyed little scientists can build them.
Sounds like a plan.....(not).
yes, bide our time, for now. And yes, that's the plan. You can scream "not!" until you pass out. I don't think anyone is listening.
These North Korean crackpots have been threatening America for years. During that time cowards have always insisted on “biding our time”. That is how, and why, we ended up in this horrible position.
While we were “biding our time” and cowering in the corner, the North Koreans have worked non-stop to vastly increase their military's size and capability, including its weaponry, which now includes ICBMs and nuclear bombs.
How long would you like to wait? How many nuclear armed ICBMs do you think they should amass before we grow a pair and decide to take some action to stop them — 50? 100? 600? What would we be able to do about their nukes then?
At that point, what great advice would we get from the “bide our time” crowd? Will they then advise us to live on our knees forever? Probably so.
“Biding our time” has never worked, except to the benefit of the North Koreans. And being a coward has never done anything but encourage bullies.
Talk’s cheap, and Rocketboy knows it. Now the fat little clown is now even laughing in our Dotard PINO’s face.
But we will probably continue to do what we have always done, while expecting a different result. And we all know the definition of that behavior.
What "action" do you propose?
I'm not suggesting that I have an answer to this problem with NK.
But I AM suggesting that we deal with it - right now - rather than continuing to sit on our thumbs, as we have been for all these years. Waiting, has only made this problem much worse. So, "biding our time" is no answer at all. It's just more of the same. (Allowing the problem, and it's possible consequences, to grow).
War with North Korea is a horrible thought, but waiting until they have even greater nuclear capabilities will make the problem much worse, and will increase any potential loss of life exponentially. Their nuclear capabiities are expanding much more rapidly than anyone expected. I would rather we confront them today, and get the problem settled, one way or another. We cannot allow ourselves to live in a future filled with fear because of our cowardice and lack of resolve. The N Koreans proved in our last war with them, that they are willing to suffer any loss of life when they are at war. And, to their way of thinking, we are still at war. Nothing seems to have changed, in that regard. If we are weak, they will continue to be aggressive and they will win in every disagreement.
Here's a question for you. If you were on an airliner and a terrorist moved to take over the plane, threatening to set off a bomb or in some other way to make the plane crash. How long would you wait? Would you 'try' to get to the terrorist and disarm or disable him as quickly as possible? Or would you "bide your time" and
hope he will have mercy on you and your family.
In real life, I have been in two separate situations in which I could have been killed. I know how I react. I do not freeze.
