Responsible SNAP Budget

If you have lots of kids, you can even get food stamps on a $60,000 salary.

The obvious question is: why did you keep having kids knowing you can’t afford to support them?
I tried to research that and what I got as an answer was “highly unlikely but potentially possible in certain states”

So tell us how you got that figure and in what state.

Not that you’d lie or anything

Repub's have control of the legislative process at the moment. Perhaps a (R) congressman should come up with a bill designed to reduce SNAP benefits and then pass it. You know, the way the government is supposed to work.

They did. BBB went thru.

One Big Beautiful Bill Act did pass and was signed into law in July 2025.

**** most Takes effect next JAN? The Schumer shutdown is fot OCT NOV. Ending soon.

They’re also in bars, buying booze. I guess they can afford it what with other people paying for their food.
How would you know this? And who are “they “?

Of course you know that 40% Hasidic Jews get SNAP AND a full 70% get Medicaid

You knew that right?

Trump is cracking down with a new bill so that illegals won't get food stamps. Perhaps that's why they need $ 9 Billion when there is only $ 5.4 million in the kitty. As soon as they pass out the money, they will be in the same spot again: Broke with EBT funds.

Not in the proportion I've seen suggested here by trumples.

Illegals never could get food stamps stupid

Does SNAP Cover the Cost of a Meal in Your County?

In 2024, SNAP benefits did not cover the cost of a meal in 99 percent of counties.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP (formerly known as the Food Stamp program), helps roughly 42 million Americans buy food for themselves and their families each year. But the maximum benefit doesn’t always cover the cost of a modestly priced meal, which may contribute to increased food insecurity among many families receiving SNAP benefits.

Seems some people in this thread love AI, so I asked.

Average varies by state. So call it $150 per month.

For 30 days that’s $5.00 per day.

Locally a single 2-3 oz lobster tail is $4.99 frozen.

New York strip steak is $11.99 per pound. So about a 4-5 oz steak for $5.00.
.
.
.
$5.00 though is for all 3 meals.

And so the way the flim flam goes is 5 per household are elegible with no payments from any minors who benefit and likely no taxes paid by mommy machines . So about 850 per month total
The is no single person getting a mere $169 per Month because that’s grossly insufficient

1) That’s a SUPPLEMENT. The average SNAP recipient, according to your info above, is getting $5 a day for food. I average about $10 a day for food. So we are paying for half of all their meals, and that’s IF they have income and earn enough for the other half.

2) For the non-workers, with no income, but lots of kiddos, they can max out at around $1100. That’s a gigantic supplement and gives them more money to spend on groceries than the average responsible, working class person.

My objection is with #2. No way taxpayers should be giving non-workers $1100 (tax-free). No wonder they don’t want to work!

Also, every time the Mommy Machine pops out another one she can’t afford, her allotment increases by $200 per month. Even if she’s breastfeeding and pays nothing for baby’s food. So, she has $200 more to spread among her existing toddlers, who are already getting $200 each.

Believe me, many of these mothers have money left over on their EBT card and just buy….whatever….to use it up.

Whew. You won’t be getting any child support demands then from any Baby Mamas!

The point of the OP is that they DON’T have to eat cheap. We could cut the SNAP payments by half, and they still have money left over - IF they choose wisely.
I understand. Just saying I are cheap so can they. I eat dirt cheap at times cause it is all I can afford. I dont qualify for SNAP.

As long as people can eat great on SNAP they wont need to look for a job so they can eat better tasting foods
