What makes someone a “Conservative”?

In my opinion since this is an opinion forum and facts rarely matter:

1) Limited Govt. States and local rule over Federal rule when possible, which should lead to fiscal responsibility.

2) Personal responsibility over Govt is here to help

3) Support of Free Markets. Reasonable taxes. Reasonable regulation

4) Traditional values aka no furries, trans crap,
DEI

5) Strong and advanced military

6) Support strong border security and contolled
Legal immigration

7) Support strong law enforcement none of this cashless bail and such. Back the Blue

8) Support 2A

9) End birthright citizenship for illegals

10) Death penalty for convicted violent criminals

11) Pride in being an American

12) Reduce perpetual social programs and create a system of reward for work not for gaming the system

13) There are only two genders

Doesn’t sound so bad

What makes someone a “Conservative”?

If one’s ideology/worldview aligns with that of our great founders/framers I’d say he/she can be considered a Conservative.

HA HA HA, Oh, sorry hundreds of millions of alumni for 52 years- you'll now have to revise what you learned. Democrats got a new definition. You're obliged to follow it.

And don't forget that the cow jumped over the moon. :slap:
Only you accept Shiskin. Tough.

Me and Hundreds of Millions of Americans for the last 52 years.
Shiskin was wrong. Accept the evidence and toodle along.
Well, well. Lookee, lookee. The Washington DC police finally caught up with their book cookers manipulating crime statistics to make it appear that crime was less than it was. 13 high ranking cops going to get fired.

The Cook the Books Party finally getting the recognition they deserve. The Great Redefiners.

Well, now maybe we can examine how the 52 year definition of a recession (a two‐quarter decline in real GDP) set by Julius Shiskin, US Commissioner of Labor Statistics, got redefined by Democrats in the National Bureau of Economic Research. In a panic after the worst recession since the 1930s, Democrats didn't want their new Democrat president (Jimmy Carter) to be saddled with he moniker of recession president.

So they turned to one of their favorite think tanks, the National Bureau of Economic Research, then a mouthpiece for Democrats (more moderate in recent years) and came up with a redefinition of a recession. One so muddy and garbled that no one could really pinpoint exactly what it means, thus letting Carter off the hook, (in case GDP were to sink again) who they thought would be president for 8 years.

Fast foward to 2026, and here they are falling back to their old reliable NBER to pull them out of the ditch (ie. 3 consecutive recessions of Joe Biden 2023-2025)

So while we see the Great Redefiners at work in the DC Police Dept. Washington DC, a city owned & run by Democrats, let's not lose sight of the game Democrats play every time things go bad for them (crime, economy, whatever) that these guys are obsessed with "data", and act like we all have to accept "the numbers", especially when these numbers are coming from their pet book cookers.

Nobody should be surprised to see this in a Democrat city like Washington DC. or here is USMB talking about Joe Biden's pathetic recession record.

BTW, Shiskin himself had previously been a staff member of the NBER, and knew them well.

Protectionist has lost again.
HA HA HA. This is what a loser at a complete loss for words looks like.
Post # 644 kicked your ass & your NBER both. :slap:

Maybe next also, you'll try to claim the DC cop book cookers getting fired, were correct.
:puhleeze::right:

Democrats really don't know how :lame2:brain they look. Maybe that's how Republicans got to control all 3 branches of the US govt. 😐

I don't call myself a Conservative because of a simple question. What have Conservatives actually Conserved? Looking around, not much, so for that reason - I cannot consider myself one.

Obama committed treason when he cancelled the intelligence report stating Trump was not working with the Russians and ordered a new report stating he was working with the Russians. He did that to overthrow the governnment and Trump was elected.
