Republicans Are, And Have Been, Attacking Social Security

Social Security should be a voluntary program.
Mandating a Ponzi scheme should be as illegal as it is immoral.
Back in the day, the Socialist Roosevelt realized that most Progressives dont care about their future, just what they did for the day, so he had to created the Ponzi scheme so those lazy fucks could have a retirement even though many thought they wouldnt live long enough.

I don't believe the fed-gov has the constitutional authority to mandate free people save for retirement. A free person should make those decisions for themselves and bear the consequences of them. SS could be legal at the state level, per the 10th Amendment. Those are my views.

If we lived in such a society, I couldn't agree more. But most of our social programs are for people making bad decisions in their life.

If you dropped out of high school and didn't get a good paying job, you can go on a number of our welfare programs. If you do work and don't make enough money to live in the suburbs, government will give you a taxpayer voucher so you can. If you don't make enough money to reasonably afford food, we taxpayers will stuff your ass so fat you won't be able to work a physical strenuous job. And the most recent one, the Affordable Connectivity Act by the Democrats and Biden, will pay some or all of your cable/ internet bill if you make under a certain amount.

So we have to face facts. Our country will not allow these people to starve or die because they didn't have the intelligence to plan for their future, and that's why it has to be government mandated, because we all will pay for it one way or another.

Allowing for something and actually doing it are not the same thing. Congress has proven, no matter which party is in power, that they will continue to fund a program long after it's become unnecessary or obsolete just because it would put political stooges out of work.
True.

One of my ongoing recommendations to fix the Budget Deficit is to have another "Grace Commission" to make recommendations how to streamline the Federal Government, to eliminate duplication, waste, fraud, and abuse.

Their recommendations were totally ignored by the House and Senate over "turf wars". That needs to change.
That was the rationale' for an outsider like Trump.
Trump efforts to eliminate waste were thwarted by the GOP's Speaker RINO Ryan.

Biden refused to name them, but here's the names of some of the loudest ones...

Do the USMB rightwing Republican-voters agree w/this attack on social security?

What's your position on this matter?

"But the roots of that threat lie in the disastrous policies of this administration. Because this massive accumulation of debt was predicted, because it was foreseeable, because it was unnecessary, because it was the result of willful and reckless disregard for the warnings that were given and for the fundamentals of economic management, I am voting against the debt limit increase."

It should be voluntary on where your money goes, not if you have to make a contribution or not. Too many irresponsible people in this country to make decisions for their future. Then we'd all end up supporting them after they paid nothing into the system.

Your choice should be SS or a government approved IRA.
What about the insurance component of Social Security? You choose the IRA option and then become disabled at 50, what then? And forget about disability insurance, Social Security payments are factored in premium calculations. Remove that component and no regular person could ever afford the premiums.

That would come out of FICA taxes, which in a way, is an extension of SS taxes. We could keep those.

And isn't your view on this issue, the average Republican view on this issue?

I'm a liberal and I don't say those things.
You are no liberal, you are a worthless Marxist...
