Social Democracy

I think that the problem is that you like the military , police , fire protection etc. so you don't want them to be socialism. Socialism is evil and scary so anything that is good can't be Socialism . Hogwash.
Heh... nope. Those aren't examples of socialism because they don't fit the definition of the word. I've explained why. I can explain it more of you like.

Again I said they are Social Democracy or Socialist Programs...

It works like this... The more Socialist Programs you have the closer you are to Socialism... No country in the world, even North Korea is totally socialist, even they have certain amount of Capitalism however small e.g. taxis...

Obviously this is an old graph but 'I trying to explain the point...
US and EU are Mixed economies, the mix being Capitalism and Social Programs running together for a better Society or Economy...
In Europe they call this the mix between Privatisation and Public (Public Owned). Certain places Privatisation is a winner e.g. taking Airlines out of Public Ownership and Privatising them. Sometimes the Government still retains a stake in the national interest i.e. Island Nation, need an Airline. But on a day to day private companies are better at running an airline e.g. Ryanair...
The there is the privatisation of the rail line in the UK.
The Conservative government wanted to privatise as much as they can so they sold the rail line, they thought Private companies could run it better, it is generally considered a failure. UK rail ticket prices are now the highest in Europe... UK is now in the process of re-nationalising them again as their contracts for subsidies (they had to be heavily subsidised to not go bankrupt) come to an end. Some might be profitable enough to stay private but very doubtful.

Could have the same story about the Privatisation of water worldwide. Look at Thames Water....

So what I am saying, our mixed economies need balance... EU have more public ownership in Healthcare and Third Level Education, US has choose the privatisation route... Which is working...

But anyone who says Medicaid for all is Communism or Marxism should be ignored. They are not engaging in a adult conversation... Question is, Are Americans getting value for money from the present system? Is there examples worldwide of it done better... Should we look and see if there is anything we should adopt...

US has created some brilliant Government (Public) Programs which Europe adopted and US dropped later...

US were one of the first to try Free Higher Level Education, Decriminalisation of Drugs, Humane Prisons, Freshly Cooked School Lunches... Yep, the US... Europe copied these from US and implemented in Europe and they are all highly successful in the countries that adopted them...

lol!, most of those countries would throw you in jail for speaking out Ted

~S~
Nope...

Just look how much US jails there own citizens compared to EU...

BTW, that is a Conservative Institution that is saying the those Social Democracies are freer... So while you say people can be put in jail for hate speech in Europe, look at the numbers, it is rare and compared to US they don't put their citizens in prison so freely.

Every country has acceptable level of speech even US... You can't shout fire in a theatre... You can't burn a cross on your front lawn.
The "Intimidation" Standard: In the landmark 2003 case Virginia v. Black, the Supreme Court ruled that a state can constitutionally ban cross burning if the act is done with the "intent to intimidate.

In UK it is illegal to be waving of a Hezbollah flag, in the US it is legal. In UK they call it supporting terrorism, does that mean US is more acceptable at supporting terrorism than UK?

UK has thousands in prison because of tweets, clown.

The old democrats are GONE !! This is what the NEW Democrats are voting for !! You are supporting the squad !!
This didn’t happen overnight. It happened step by step, over one generation.
VENEZUELA: HOW A PROSPEROUS NATION COLLAPSED
1992
Venezuela is the 3rd richest country in the Western Hemisphere, powered by oil and a growing middle class.
1997
Venezuelans become the 2nd largest buyers of Ford F-150s—a sign of widespread prosperity.
1998
Hugo Chávez is elected, promising to “redistribute wealth” and fix inequality.
2001
The country votes again for socialism, framed as compassion and fairness.
2003
The government imposes price controls and currency controls.
Black markets appear. Shortages begin.
2004
Private healthcare is fully socialized.
2006
Inflation rises sharply as massive welfare programs expand without real economic backing.
2007
All higher education becomes “free.”
2008
Key industries—oil services, steel, cement, telecom—are nationalized.
Production drops almost immediately.
2009
Private gun ownership is banned.
2010
The currency is devalued by 50%, crushing savings and accelerating inflation.
2011
Oil production begins a steady decline due to mismanagement and lack of investment.
2012
American politicians, like Bernie Sanders, publicly praise Venezuela’s model.
2013
Chávez dies. Nicolás Maduro takes power and tightens state control.
2014
Opposition leaders are arrested or silenced.
2015
GDP collapses. Hyperinflation begins.
2016
Severe food and medical shortages spread nationwide.
2017
The constitution is suspended. Elections are no longer meaningful.
2018
Inflation exceeds 1,000,000%. Maduro “wins” a widely fraudulent election.
2019
Unarmed civilians are killed by their own government.
2020
More than 8 million people flee the country to escape hunger and repression.
2023
Minor economic improvements fail to relieve mass poverty.
2024
Disputed elections trigger protests and global isolation.
2026
Maduro is removed by force. Venezuela is liberated after decades of ruin.
THE HARD TRUTH
It took one generation of “progressive” leadership to turn one of the richest countries on Earth into a nation defined by hunger, fear, mass graves, and mass migration.
This is the lesson history keeps teaching:
You can vote your way into socialism.
But history shows people only escape it through collapse, violence, or foreign intervention.
And here is the part Americans must understand clearly:
If this happens in the United States, there will be nobody coming to save us.
No outside superpower.
No rescue force.
No second chance.
Freedom is fragile. Prosperity is not guaranteed.
And once lost, they are brutally hard to recover.
Venezuela’s people paid the price.
America cannot afford to learn this lesson the same way.

UK has thousands in prison because of tweets, clown.
There is not thousands there are 137 in 2024...

And they were for in the UK:
It is an offence under these sections to send messages of a “grossly offensive” or “indecent, obscene or menacing” character or persistently use a public electronic communications network to cause “annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety”.

Now EU wouldn't be this harsh... This law was brought in by a right wing tory government to prevent child abuse (and the law is mainly used there). But there are figures like Suella Braverman who were using this types of laws for to prosecute what we would consider free speech... the law was sold as to protect children...

Good point, but this is UK... They are a bit of a mess right now...

Explain the Scandinavian countries....

No country in South America really works no matter what political ideology the subscribe too...

I could show the MAGA leader of Argentina's opinion polls falling of a cliff but it is pointless...

Corruption down there works on both sides of the aisle..

Compare apples with apples..

It seems though the loss of freedoms runs concurrently with the addition of socialism agendas.

Liberals had to change being "liberal" to being "progressive", now they want to change communism to "social democracy".

Nobody is buying it beyond single digit IQ morons like the OP.

I have shown ye multiple times that for both left leaning and right leaning organisations that Scandinavian countries are considered to be more free than US...

Ye keep ignoring that... So they are not concurrent...

But basically, if you want to talk about loss of freedoms, who has the highest incarceration rates in the first world...

Nostra using ignorance as a method of discussion doesn't really work...

You again can't seem to be able to discuss things at an adult level so you then try insult everyone you disagree with...

Every time the socialists fail they change the name of their failure.
Global warming became climate change
Socialism became democratic socialism, social democracy, whats next?

Shit, their MMGW Cult has had to go from "climate change" to "climate disruption", whatever that means.

They can't just say who they are, they have to try to flower up their dumbassery at every turn.
