Remember That "Affordability Crisis" Under Trump?

This level of brainwashing is impressive.

Prices are down 1800000%
While overall inflation has generally seen prices level off rather than come down significantly, prices for a few specific goods and services have decreased recently or compared to last year.

Specific Items with Price Declines
  • Eggs: Retail prices for eggs have come down substantially from their record highs earlier in 2025, which were driven by avian flu outbreaks.
  • Gasoline: The national average price of gas has fallen slightly in recent months and is down compared to last year. Current data can be checked via AAA Fuel Prices.
  • Used Vehicles: Prices for used cars and trucks have been generally declining in recent months.
  • Various Grocery Items (relative to last year): The White House has cited data indicating recent declines for certain staples, including butter, some fresh fruits, cereal, rice, pasta, and ham. The cost of a traditional Thanksgiving meal has also decreased each year since 2023.
  • Consumer Electronics & Apparel: Prices for some consumer goods have stagnated or gone down over the last few years, with specific items like smartphones, jewelry, shoes, and baby clothes being cheaper than they were last year.
  • Obesity Drugs: Medicare prices for several common obesity and diabetes drugs, such as Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, and Zepbound, were recently negotiated down dramatically for the federal government.

Because the effects are lagging.

We aren't going to hope or pray our way around the mathematics.

I can't believe Trump gets away with what he gets away with. It's maddening. This is why I love watching the Late Shows. They are the only shows that point out Trump's constant lies and hypocrisy.

The latest was him saying he will release the tapes of bombing that boat 2 times, then the very next day he brazenly lies and says "I never said that".

This is the Gaslight president for sure.

Prices are up across the economy.

And Trump's policies are all inflationary. Every single one.

And, thanks to Trump's staggering job losses, the Fed is forced to implement inflationary monetary policy, in dropping rates.

And no MAGA blogger is going to toss a word salad that deletes these basic facts.

Overall, prices are way up. You can cherry pick all you want to show some things have come down. Overall, prices are higher this year than last year. Exact opposite of what Trump promised. Now he's telling you to just spend more. That doesn't change the ******* fact that prices are up. He's just telling you how to deal with the mess he created.

Apparel?

Abercrombie & Fitch, Walmart, Nike, and other major brands that say Trump's tariffs are pushing them to raise prices. Trump's tariffs have led some companies to reveal that they plan to raise prices.

Did you hear about the farm bail out? $12 billion? Too bad Trump has cost farmers $33 billion this year.

has cost farmers $33 billion this year, according to North Dakota State University’s Agricultural Trade Monitor. I’m not a mathematician, but that is quite a bit more than the $12 billion the government is about to dole out.

Inflation is slowing. The job losses are mostly useless government workers and illegals deported. Thats a good thing. Wages are up, GDP 3.8% gas under 3 dollars, tax cuts will increase spending power, tariffs will pay off the deficit in 3 years. I just dont see a problem.

Oh come on Trump's doing a great job.

Layoff announcements top 1.1 million this year, the most since 2020 pandemic

The most-cited reason for the month was restructuring, followed by closings and market or economic conditions.

Announced job cuts from U.S. employers moved further ahead of 1 million for the year in November as corporate restructuring, artificial intelligence and tariffs have helped pare job rolls

No excuses Trump. You blamed Biden, which was bullshit. Now no excuses like "it's hard" No shit it's hard dumb ass. It's why we said you should never be president. You're stupid. But half of America thinks that's endearing for some reason.

Inflation is slowing and many cost have dropped.
Nope. Inflation is right where it was when Trump was sworn in.

And you have repeatedly demonstrated you don't pay the bills in your house, or else you would not be spewing such horseshit about costs dropping.

Most of the lost jobs are useless government jobs and deported illegals. Good. Trumps tax cuts kick in on Jan and we can get out of the Biden ecomomy

He's cherry picking. He may as well have told us Burger King has brought back the 2 for $5 whopper jrs as his evidence prices are coming down. LOL.

The late shows are part of the reason we live in a soft tyranny. Approved by the deep state to push the narrative.

GROCERY prices always go up, some are temporary due to situations.
There is zero doubt that we ALL pay a little more than we did in past years.
Gas also go's up & down.
rent has gone insane.
own property,? my tax and insurance up.
Gas & electric up.
AND banks no longer pay enough interest to save for future.
that's just the tip of the ice berg.
BLAME? TRY BIG MONEY WANTS IT ALL THEIR WAY.
Back to a two class society?

Turkey was selling for $0.35 a pound.
But...but the price doubled.

Grocery stores survive on razor thin margins, but they ate the cost of double the turkey.

And he bought into it.

sealybobo needs an MRI to see if his brain still exists.

I guess that's why only 26% of Americans say the economy is doing well.

And how would they judge it. How many Americans do you know actually know how to analyze this?

Not that many......

They hear it day in and day out (and of course about 40% think they are entitled) so I am surprised it isn't 90%.

Less people must be watching Rachael Madcow.

They’re reflecting on the residual effect of the previous democrat faux administration’s energy and money-printing policies. Even if they’re too stupid to know it.
What’s your excuse?
What affordability problem? Why haven't you told Trump about it?

Trump gave himself an “A-plus-plus-plus-plus-plus” grade on the economy during an exclusive interview with POLITICO’s Dasha Burns...
Half of those surveyed said they find it difficult to pay for food. And a majority, 55 percent, blame the Trump administration for the high prices — even as the White House emphasizes its focus on affordability and the economy ahead of the midterm.
As affordability increasingly becomes a political flashpoint, with Democrats eager to seize on GOP vulnerabilities, a meaningful share of Trump’s own voters — 22 percent — blame the president for the high grocery costs.
