It was also caused by the Fed holding interest rates too low for too long.

Consumer expenditures (demand) rose to an all time high after the pandemic.

When the pandemic Trump completely bungled abated, all that pent up demand spiked, and it overwhelmed the supply chain which had collapsed during the pandemic.

Add to that all the Trump and Biden stimulus which added trillions to the money supply.

Due to the demand surge, we had a sudden, massive increase in the velocity of all that money.

Under the last administration, we saw some of the largest increases in prices in 50 years in terms of percentage points (19 percent) and overall inflation (9 percent). The inflation reduction act was anything but an irresponsible spending grab by Democrats.
