The greatest inflationary force in the "Tri-State Area" (NY-CT-NJ) is public sector employment. I read once that one forth of the entire population either works for some agency or is supported by someone who does. And that doesn't count contractors, service providers, vendors, and consultants. The worst "government" agency in the entire country, from the standpoint of fleecing the people, is the Port Authority.
And all of the non-management employees of all of these agencies are members of Collective Bargaining Units. "Management" in that region has a habit of giving away the figurative store in negotiations, because whatever they give to the union ends up in their own paychecks and benefits within a year or two.
I realize that blaming Trump, as done in the OP, is meant to be inflammatory, but blame the State legislators who foolishly granted these hundreds of thousands of government workers the right to strike. A pox on all their houses.
