re-electing Trump means more damage to environmental policies

eh, opportunity zones seem to be another bag of hot air : What You Need to Know About Opportunity Zones

and that first step act seems like really small improvements (First Step Act - Wikipedia) that end up meaning very little in a system that still racially profiles *and* keeps poverty at (sorta) current levels.

and if people are forced into tents on the streets, Trump wants to :
Trump’s Plan to Solve Homelessness Is Horrifying
reporting in The Washington Post had suggested that the White House was proposing to demolish tent cities in San Francisco and Los Angeles, increase the “role of police” in monitoring homelessness, and potentially incarcerate the homeless in government-run facilities.
instead of making ordinary housing and jobs available for these people!

so cut your ramblings about how Trump supports the middle class and the blacks,
they're all empty promises and the tiniest of economic improvements that are then blown up by being called substantial,
by people like you.
If you are concerned about housing take it up with your state legislators, county supervisor or council members and city council members and mayors because they are the ones who determine what can and will be built in whatever area you live in. Unless of course you live in a place where you can actually build whatever the hell you want, however you want to build it. It isn't up to the federal government to make sure houses get built. If you can't build yourself a shack these days for little to nothing you are probably in a bad area to live so move to where life is a bit more friendly and go down and get yourself some crates, pallets and such and start building yourself some shelter. You can probably find just about everything you need for little to nothing. All you need is a few tools. Hell if you live in an area where it doesn't rain all the time you can build a shelter with sand bags, a few stakes and some tim for a roof.

i'd prefer to see the right kinda policies flow down right from the top dude.

not first make people homeless, then not support them, then imprison them while calling it "shelter".

The Republican Party has been taken over by big business. They have no problems with dirty water and air and destruction of wildlife habitats because it might cost big business a few dollars. Even younger Republicans say that Republicans need a plan less draconian than the Green new deal.

insults and obvious misdirection ("take it up with xyz").. that's all i've seen so far from you in this thread, Trump supporters.

got anything of real substance?
something independently verifiable please?
Take the time to make a few phone calls. Call the regional federal office and ask them about something. For instance you can ask them about tearing down an old building that could possibly have asbestos in it. That person will mostly like tell you that if there is asbestos in your building whoever is going to remove that needs to have an asbestos removal license. Then they will most likely refer you to your state Division of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Environmental Quality (DEQ) or whatever the agency of the state is called that takes care of environmental issues. Now those state guys go by different rules depending on the state you are in. They may refer you to their preferred contractors or they may simply tell you that you need a license to be authorized to remove asbestos and they should tell you their state requirements of where that asbestos must be disposed of, etc....

Now if you are too stoopid or too ignorant to do something like that there isn't much any one can do for you whether they are Trump supporters or not.

so ehm, because it's not easy to get f-ing ASBESTOS removed safely,
and because god-forbid the rules are *localized* (yet easy enough to read up on, and construction businesses tend to be tied to specific regions btw),
i'm talking nonsense.

right. not.
I just described to you a portion of something we already went through years ago. If its your property no license required but some state asshole may try to convince you that you must hire one of his preferred contractors. That same state asshat may tell you that you can't let a family member who has a federal license do the removal for you too but that is a lie on the state asshat's part.

The only actual environmental impact will be the extra mattresses you bed wetters soil and put in the landfills.

We've seen quite enough of the stupid bullshit you vacuous pieces of post.

now you're replying like a 3 year old who can't stand to have to listen to another's opinion that you don't agree with.

grow up, will ya.
Study up on "opportunity zones" and the "First Step" act. After Mr Hope and Change flipped the bird at the Black people who voted for him, Trump is actually doing something to help the Black community.

You need to study up on opportunity zones. They have been used by the rich to build high end housing and wealthy developers are reaping the benefits. Amonh them Kushner.

“Jared Kushner’s family company owns or is in the process of buying at least a dozen properties in New York, New Jersey and Florida that are in opportunity zones. That includes a pair in Miami, where Kushner Companies plans to build a 393-apartment luxury high rise with sweeping views of Biscayne Bay, according to a company presentation for potential investors,” the newspaper noted. “In addition, Cadre, an investment company co-founded by Mr. Kushner and his brother, Joshua, is raising hundreds of millions of dollars that it hopes to use on opportunity-zone projects.”

Trump cronies are getting rich off his ‘Opportunity Zone’ tax scam: report

you're making it sound like that government employee has some kinda backroom deal going with his 'preferred contractors'.

what if 'preferred contractor' is just a way of saying 'we know these guys and know they deliver quality work'?

which in the case of things like asbestos removal and structural soundness seems entirely reasonable btw.

where's your evidence of large scale corruption, dude?
or were you not implying that?

and i think we have seen quite enough of that already.

plus, Trump is the kinda guy to repeat blatant provable lies right to everyone's face. i believe that alone makes him unfit for office, and if you add his tendency to play nice with world dictators while they implement WMD programs semi-silently, or his stone walling on gun control, or the complete cutting of US climate policies, or the passing of massive tax cuts to the richest that really didn't end up in ordinary people's paychecks (quite predictably) while Trump will claim that it did,

then i gotta say you have a President here who is truly best dismissed at re-election time.
You better move - quick. I hear Caracas is nice this time of year.

i agree the middle class is taxed enough already, but what about making businesses suffer a little in the now to secure everyone's future against known and verified threats like climate change, or taxing the richest just a little more for part of that wealth that they spend on luxury trips and "items"?
how do you feel about that?

I just told you what the deal was. I have several family members that have the federal license. The particular state guy I spoke with got so pissed he threatened to sick his attorney on me after I told him I already had chosen a company that was testing the building's materials and if it had any asbestos I'd have our family member with the license do the work for us if needed. I hung the phone up and called the Federal District office.

There is a lot of corruption in certain state offices and in some county offices. That's just the way it is until people either fight back or garnish enough people who are not corrupt together to get the corruption out of their local and state offices where it exist.

Do it for you - not me. Go check out the environment down there that socialism has ushered in. Breath the air, take in the beautiful sights of garbage and human waste, and enjoy! You'll find it compares favorably with Stockton CA after a good rain.
Until then - quit your bitchin'.

lol So what you are saying is that you are opposed to Trump because he does not support Democratic policies. That suggests that your vote, if you are old enough to vote, would go to any Democrat and never to any Republican.

you know, calling things "socialism!" every time you don't like a policy proposal or voting advice,

is a spoiled-5-year old's discussion behavior with grown up terminology.
