Yes I agree, you are an ass.
You gonna say that when #metoo fascists remove statues of the mysoginistic MLK?Thoughts and prayers for the statue.
The difference is that afterwards the whole purpose was to all be Americans again and part of that deal was to allow them to honor their dead and their lost cause as long as they remained loyal.
That led to the lack of guerrilla warfare that so many in the North feared would happen.
Former confederate soldiers became US citizens again.

We know all about the Democratic party of 1860. Is this news to you? Did someone read a book to you? I think most of you people fantasize about riding with John Wilkes Booth. Black lives didn`t matter to this Pittsburgh cracker. The facts are that history no longer is taught in our schools, but the undeniable truth of history of our nation is fact nonetheless. Even so, the Democrat Party of today acts like they had nothing to do with the Civil War, racism and the terrorism that has followed. Even the Germans have not denied their history of the Nazi Party and the Holocaust.
Democrats supported slavery, especially during the years leading up to the Civil War and well after. People in America especially the young have forgotten that during the 1960’s and after, Democrats fought against the Voting Rights Act and the Civil Rights Act.
In recent years we have seen new violent terrorist groups created by the Democrat Party come on the scene, just to name a few; the Weather Underground, #OWS, #Black Lives Matter, and lately the so called Anti-Fascists aka Antifa. These are just extensions of Democrat Marxist Socialist terrorism that were started more than 150 years ago with the creation of the Ku Klux Klan.
There is no larger monument to racism and violence in our history than the Democrat Party, and it must not be allowed to continue destroying our nation.
Looks like the statue is going back up.
A board member at the University of North Carolina is calling for a Confederate statue to be promptly reinstalled on the Chapel Hill campus after it was toppled by protesters earlier this month.
Citing state law on monuments and memorials, UNC Board of Governors member Thom Goolsby said in a YouTube video that the well-known “Silent Sam” monument will be placed back on campus within 90 days.

Then the kids will just have to tear it down again. Maybe take a sledge hammer to it.
Oh look...an intolerant Fascist asshole.

No where ever have I done that you lying fuckwit.
You're a goddamn joke, old man. You lie constantly and you're as stupid as a fucking stump. You and your sock. Yeah...
They had their chance. It's over. And as if these soft handed liberals own a sledge hammer. I'd be amazed if these affuenzised suburban white social justice warriors could figure out which end of a hammer to hold and which end to hit with.
YOu know what, seems to me the Millenials are having to deal with problems our generation fucked up.
You and I have worn out and rehandled more sledge hammers than all these white savior SJW millennials have picked up.

Possibly. I really don't use one that often...
But our problems aren't going to be solved with sledgehammers.
So let's review. This obnoxious statue is still standing, not because the student or university wanted it, but because people in the state capitol wanted it.
They took measures into their own hands. Good for them.
Just like 50 years ago, some people confronted their government on civil rights and an immoral war.
The statue isn't obnoxious, it commemorates the students and faculty who died fighting in the war between the states.
"on the campus at the State University, of a monument to the students and faculty, who went out from its walls in 1861 to fight and die for the South"
Tell me what right the students of 2018 have to decide the fate of a memorial conceived, privately funded and erected in 1913?
