Price Is No Longer an Obstacle to Clean Power

I am familiar with GDP. Your post was:

Abu Afak : Economics may take us to net zero all on its own The plummeting cost of low-carbon energy has already allowed many countries to decouple economic growth from emissions

Toddsterpatriot: Fracking already allowed the US to do this.

Fracking did not allow the decoupling of economic growth from emissions since fracking would drive both values upward.

So, your quoted line here is incorrect. Clever repartee will not make fix that.

Fracking did not allow the decoupling of economic growth from emissions since fracking would drive both values upward.

How much did real US GDP increase since 2007?
How much did US CO2 emissions decrease since 2007?

Let me know if you need help with the math, I recognize your weakness in that area.

show me that Texas residents got their electric bills slashed?

Howe said he spent about $10,000 in out-of-pocket costs for his system, which totals 4.5 kilowatts. It generates about 60% of his electricity use annually and saves him roughly $100 a month on his electric bill.
In general, he said, homeowners can recoup their upfront solar investments in about 10 years. His payback period will be closer to 12 to 14 years because the cost was higher a decade ago and electricity rates were lower.

Howe helped create early solar co-ops that brought together local residents and leveraged their buying power for rooftop projects, and that approach continues. On Tuesday, the 2022 version of the Plano solar co-op was launched with the help of the nonprofit Solar United Neighbors.

Speaking of weaknesses, what do you think those numbers will tell us about fracking? And, to get back to your original contention, how much do you believe fracking reduced US GHG emissions?

You know US CO2 has dropped a lot since 2007, right?
You know US GDP has increased a lot since 2007, right?

In the "old days", if you doubled GDP, you basically doubled CO2 output.
So how did the US manage to decouple GDP from CO2?

-Speaking at the COP26 summit last year, Richa Sharma, leader of the Indian delegation, was quick to emphasise that India had a right to burn fossil fuels, telling delegates: “The meagre carbon budget is first and foremost the right and entitlement of developing countries.” This emphasis on allocating the bulk of remaining “carbon space” to countries that have not yet reaped the benefits of years of fossil-fuelled economic growth is central to the climate justice movement.

-But all such good intentions are rapidly being overtaken by simple economics.
In 2009, coal was still an attractive option for countries looking for affordable energy, its average costs coming in well below renewables.
-But by 2020, Both Wind and Solar had become Far Cheaper per unit of energy.

In some markets, capital-intensive new installations even worked out Cheaper than Existing coal plants. In response, India’s appetite for coal has quickly waned. In 2019, the International Energy Agency forecast that the country’s installed capacity of coal would grow by around 80% between 2018 and 2040. A year later, they revised that to just 10%...

How's that sandy vag?

There’s no “k” in fracture. It’s not fracking. It’s frac’ing.
There don't seem to be a lot of brains inside your skull. Or perhaps English is not your native tongue. I challenge you to show me a published article on the subject that spells the term as you have suggested.

SMITH: Shortly after Nick's fracking innovation, Mitchell Energy was acquired by a larger company. Nick's boss became a billionaire. Nick didn't even get a bonus. But he's done very well. He is still in the oil business. And he works as a consultant. Stacey Vanek Smith, NPR News.
And still no idea who actually coined the term "fracking"
DOH!

People also ask

Where did the term fracking come from?

Who coined the term fracking?
See, I'm figuring "fluid" + "cracking"
But I gather that just makes too much sense for it to be the actual reason :eusa_shhh:

Could you just go ahead and tell us, in your opinion, how much fracking reduced US greenhouse gas emissions.

You probably don't have Ding's blessing to answer for him, but I'm curious as to your opinion no matter. How did Fracking reduce US GHG emissions?
It’s cleaner than coal oil and gas
