The solar power systems are expensive. They have been around for at least a few decades. You would figure with all of the resources invested in them that the size of the units would be minimal as compared to the bulkiness you still see today.

A high burden of claims? Is that for something new?

The extent of the claims is new, but the kinds of claims are not.

Why would houses in Florida be so much more prone to damage these days as compared to previous decades?

Many more houses, many more houses close to the water, many more expensive houses closer to the water.

Do you think global warming is making people build houses closer to the water?
Or is it making the hurricanes hit the houses?
Or does global warming make insurance companies decide they don't like to lose money?

Solar also works, simp.

That's why I pay no electric bill.
Not really. As a a stand alone, off grid type deal where you have nothing else, it works OK. I just replaced my original solar array and to be honest I was kinda sad at how little progress has been made in the last 30 years.

My battery bank is a LOT better though.

That has come a long way.
