President Trump Lost This War

I believe it when it is actually released.

And I would hope we would help re-build an Iran governed under a nice Constitutional Monarchy.

It would be a wise investment on our part.
The Islamic Jihad theocracy regime would have to be removed 100% before that happens.
At this point, we should give Iran nothing, other than the bill for our expended munitions and equipment, and lives.
Also the bill for damages they did to other nations in their hissy fit bombardments.

The Heirguardsman and Darth Evader

During Vietnam, at least these Democrats were anti-war draftdodgers, while the Republicans were pro-war draftdodgers.
What Republican dodged the draft? I now of only a few Democrats that dodged the draft, and Bill Clinton was the most noteworthy.

'Iran’s hard-line government remains in place. The specifics of the nuclear agreement will apparently be negotiated over the next two months, but the terms seem likely to resemble those of a 2015 deal that President Barack Obama negotiated and that Mr. Trump canceled in 2018. He described the Obama agreement as the “worst deal ever” and said it put Iran on “a route to a nuclear weapon.” He criticized it for failing to force Iran to stop supporting terrorist groups like Hamas and Hezbollah and for loosening economic sanctions. Yet his destructive war seems likely to leave him with a similar deal.
[…]
On balance, Iran emerges the strategic winner of the four-month war. It did suffer substantial losses, including much of its navy, air force, military-industrial capacity and political leadership, including Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader, who was killed on the war’s first day. With the war ending, however, Iran’s leadership can begin rebuilding.

The United States, for its part, looks weaker in the eyes of the world. The American military has shown itself unable to quash a much smaller opponent even as it burned through many of its long-range precision missiles and interceptors. The outcome damages this country’s ability to deter other potential adversaries. To begin to repair the damage, the United States would be wise to mend alliances in Europe, the Middle East and Asia that have been frayed by the war’s military and economic effects. The Pentagon will also need to modernize and prepare for the wars of the future. Neither is likely to happen under President Trump.'

Trump lost his failed, illegal war of choice.

A war both unwarranted and unnecessary.

A war that cost the lives of 13 US service members for no valid reason.
You were never hoping he could win it.

Mad when he starts it, mad when he doesn't do something, screaming "TACO!" at the top of your liberal lungs when he doesn't act fast enough, then cheering when he fails.

Your duplicitousness is staggering. And if it weren't already made self evident by your past here, Clayton, you're certifiably insane.

and a bigot....

For the rest of you, I surmise this is part of a ploy. A larger tactic. The US knows Iran won't comply with this MOU which isn't a deal. This is a chess game.

EXACTLY !

Trump is aware of taqiyyah and the very low probability of Muslims "keeping their word", especially if already engaged in Jihad.
If Iran goes along with any deal, it is just to buy time to recover, rearm, and re-plan/strategize.

Most of the Left and TDS/Anti-Trump minions here can barely play checkers. Chess might cause their minds to implode.

Donald tRump, Mitt Romney, Dick Cheney, Newt Gingrich, and Rudy Giuliani right off the top of my head. I'm sure there are more.
How many of those actually received an induction notice to report to intake processing facility ~ MEPS ?
Military Entrance Processing Station.

And we have such a wonderful history concerning nation building, right? Since the WW2 nations, we have had only one success, and that is South Korea.

Yet many of those troops go to college to advance in rank and career.
Also many troops use GI Bill to do college when their short term enlistments are up.
My oldest son did such, after @ 6 year enlistment. Tour in Iraq.
The GI bill was and is a wonderful way for men and women with no means to get an education in trades or college. It was the idea of a Democratic President much despised by the MAGAts.

The G.I. Bill, officially the Servicemen’s Readjustment Act of 1944, was created to provide returning World War II veterans with education, housing, and employment benefits, profoundly shaping postwar American society.

Origins and Legislative Development

The G.I. Bill was signed into law by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on June 22, 1944, during World War II, to help millions of returning servicemen and women transition to civilian life and prevent postwar economic instability WikipediaWikipedia+2. The bill was largely designed and championed by the American Legion, with John H. Stelle, a former governor of Illinois, playing a key role in drafting the legislation and mobilizing public support, earning him the title "Father of the G.I. Bill" WikipediaWikipedia. Initially, Roosevelt envisioned a smaller program focused on employment, but after reports from Anna M. Rosenberg, who interviewed soldiers in Europe, educational benefits were added to meet veterans’ expectations WikipediaWikipedia.

Key Provisions

The G.I. Bill offered a range of benefits, including:

  • Education and Training: Tuition, books, supplies, and living stipends for college, vocational, or on-the-job training programs WikipediaWikipedia+1. Within seven years, about 8 million veterans used these benefits, dramatically increasing college attendance and degree attainment war.govwar.gov+1.
  • Unemployment Compensation: Financial support for veterans seeking work, with nearly 9 million veterans receiving close to $4 billion from 1944 to 1949 HISTORYHISTORY.
  • Housing and Business Loans: Low-interest mortgages and business loans to help veterans establish homes and careers HISTORYHISTORY+1.

Impact and Legacy

The G.I. Bill had a transformative effect on American society:

  • It expanded the middle class by enabling veterans to pursue higher education and homeownership HISTORYHISTORY+1.
  • College and university degree-holders more than doubled between 1940 and 1950, and the percentage of Americans with advanced degrees rose significantly over the following decades National ArchivesNational Archives.
  • The bill helped prevent a postwar economic depression by staggering veterans’ entry into the labor market war.govwar.gov.
  • While initially focused on World War II veterans, subsequent legislation, such as the Readjustment Benefits Act of 1966, extended benefits to all veterans, including those who served during peacetime HISTORYHISTORY.

Challenges and Inequalities

Despite its broad impact, not all veterans benefited equally. Black veterans often faced discrimination in accessing bank loans and housing in suburban neighborhoods, limiting their ability to fully utilize the bill’s benefits National ArchivesNational Archives.

Continuing Influence

The term "G.I. Bill" continues to refer to modern programs assisting veterans, including the Post-9/11 G.I. Bill, which provides educational and housing benefits to more recent service members WikipediaWikipedia+1. Its legacy remains a cornerstone of U.S. veteran policy, shaping education, housing, and economic opportunity for generations.

It's still not over. The uranium issue was pushed aside.

I do wonder if going into this nonsense whether Trump underestimated Iran's ability to close the Strait of Hormuz for 3+ months. Days after its closure he was talking about Navy ships escorting tankers through the passage.

Everything was pushed aside. the strait remains under Iranian control, the uranium remain under Iranian control, the regime didn't change, and Israel is still in charge of our armed forces.
