It's a question that was asked in an old thread but it wasn't framed correctly. The old thread asked the question of comparing America's capitalism with communism or socialism, and that is wrong right from the beginning!
Clearly the question is on why America's greedy style of capitalism needs to be compared to 'socially responsible' capitalism in the world's leading democracies.
And so, in a nutshell: Americans permit their government to steal the wealth away from the working people and allow huge income inequality to exist. No country, even America with it's great wealth, can allow that situation to continue to exist in this 21st. century. There must be some attempt to spread the wealth around for the betterment of the people and the country.
America's current situation of strife and near civil war is being caused by it's system of greedy capitalism.
You have to understand that those of us whose families founded this nation did so with the intent that the Government was supposed to be out of the daily lives of the People; and the further the Level of Government was from the People, the less involved in their lives thst Government was intended to be.
People were supposed to take care of themselves and those who they CHOSE TO assist. There was never any intent for the People to be forced to help others in any way. Especially not via the Government.
Unfortunately we’ve taken to intentionally misreading the founding documents. The ones that Mr Lincoln and FDRhaven’t already destroyed.
The moment that it becomes less profitable to ME to work or add value to Society is the moment I check out of Society. Currently, about 35% of my paycheck is collected by the Government, or spenton things the Government FORCES me to purchase (health insurance). Once thst number hits 51%, I QUIT. Considering the incoming White House occupant, I bet that will be relatively soon.
