the implementation of socialist policies is whats brought us down and has never ever picked a country up,,

That's a talking point worthy of honest debate! I would suggest that America has maintained more distance from socialism or communism than any of the world's leading democracies. Agreed?

so when these others you worship can achieve that then we can talk,,

I'm just asking everybody to talk about the fact that America's quality of life has fallen to 15th. in the world. That's not good for the richest country in the world, bar none! To me it's a clear irrefutable fact that the wealth is not being shared.

What can you offer for a reason?

Want to research the policies of these cities and who have ran them and research the poverty levels in them as compared to...

This country is divided and it is supposed to be a free market. Those major cities are anything but free markets. The levels of absurd regulations that obliterates small businesses in them is astounding.

Btw. The democrats control and have controlled 65 major cities in the US compared to the Republicans controlling 26 of them.

Want to do a comparison of poverty in those cities?

It's a question that was asked in an old thread but it wasn't framed correctly. The old thread asked the question of comparing America's capitalism with communism or socialism, and that is wrong right from the beginning!

Clearly the question is on why America's greedy style of capitalism needs to be compared to 'socially responsible' capitalism in the world's leading democracies.

And so, in a nutshell: Americans permit their government to steal the wealth away from the working people and allow huge income inequality to exist. No country, even America with it's great wealth, can allow that situation to continue to exist in this 21st. century. There must be some attempt to spread the wealth around for the betterment of the people and the country.

America's current situation of strife and near civil war is being caused by it's system of greedy capitalism.

5% of the country pays 35% of the federal taxes and more on everything else. Without them we'd have bread lines.

To deny this fact means one is not even serious about reality. Just left wing academia poison nonsense.

Thank you. I agree with the immoral and inappropriate' but need to just add that it can become out of necessity in which a good social safety net is required in all democracies that practice capitalism.

I understand completely. In some ways our countries are alike. But I"ve pointed out hundreds of times now that the social safety net is the responsibility of the big corporate takers too.

It's a waste of my time to dwell on the idea of walking away from it all. Very few Americans have the ability to do that.

If you choose to stick it out, we have lots to talk about.

in regards to the Social Safety Nets... I agree that there needs to be a means to stop people from falling too far... so long as they were pushed off the cliff of success rather than having jumped. By which I mean thst many of those who fall do so because of poor choices they willingly and actively,l made themselves. Those individuals do not deserve a net. I’m also of the opinion thst businesses do not deserve a safety net.,

I would prefer to see the Social Safety Net be a private undertaking that works to help people stabilize their situation and move to get out of the net rather than making them comfortable in the net as much as possible. Obviously thst doesn’t always work, and some can’t get their legs under them, but those should be far fewer than those who can.

What I’m suggesting by “walking away” is moving from being an Earner to a Taker. Both my wife and I qualify for significant assistance if we so desire. In fact, my wife was on 100% Disability, SNAP, Medicare and Medicaid when I met her 9 years ago. Due to issues in the past year my doctors have offered that I would qualify as well if I chose to. It’s starting to look better and better by the day.

We aren't greedy...in fact....we are paying for the national defense of every single European nation....and we finance all of their tech toys and advanced medicines and medical procedures....

How do you think they could afford their extravagant welfare states if they actually had to pay for a military, medical research and every other thing America bank rolls for them....

They are about to find out.....the democrats are going to ruin this country, and we will no longer be picking up the check for Europe.....I hope they learn how to speak Russian very quickly...

The ownership of slaves in the Southern economy did not help spread the wealth it actually made it decline for the majority of people living in the south.
Anytime you have a uneven distribution of wealth a civilization will die out from a lack of economic activity. Right now, the US govt. has to infuse money into the system to keep it from collapsing. Is this capitalism or state sponsored capitalism?
