Corrupt electoral college.
Just like Trump and SCOTUS.

That happens when the recipient is a CRIMINAL.
Thank you for giving the sort of response Mac is looking for.

It is unintelligent, it is utterly partisan and it is dishonest.

You recognize whatever trump tells you to recognize. It doesn't have to be true.
Forget who it is that's "telling" you something, Bulldog! Simply look at the results. What politicians tell us is almost always a load of self serving crap designed to keep them in office! Ignore that!!!

Who's policies worked and who's didn't. That's the only thing that you should be basing your vote on.

I clearly said "that's just my personal opinion".

Do you have any comments on the question?
Sure.

The question is falsely premised.

Your description of Trump is not what I see.

Was John Edwards (your VP nominee in 2004) a better or worse person than Trump.

Was HIllary Clinton (your presidential nominee in 2016) a better or worse person than Trump.

Please tell us on what basis you based the premise of your posts.

What is that "personal opinion" based on, Mac? Let's be brutally honest here. Are you in opposition to Trump because his policies don't work or are you in opposition to him because you don't like him as a person?

You're basically asking others to vote for people who's policies didn't work because you're more comfortable with them as people and you're willing to overlook their poor results. At the same time you're asking others to not vote for someone who's polices DID work simply because you don't like them!
I'm in opposition to Trumpism because of what his popularity and influence says about America from a sociological, cultural and anthropological perspective. I've said that many times. And as I said in the OP, I have several issue agreements with MAGA and provided a link as proof. My concern is about us, not him.

I asked a very clear and specific question and invited civil responses. I'm not having much luck so far. You can either participate or not. Your opinion of me means nothing.

If anyone did 1/10th of what Trump did, they would have been in prison, a long time ago.
Trump's cult doesn't care.
Something you can't prove. You lefties make up the most stupid lies.

Trump's cult doesn't care.
You bet. Someone's shooting at him and he doesn't care.

You guys are out of your tiny little minds.

It's a cult.
Just like Charlie Manson and Jim Jones, but dumber.
Awwww.......

Butthurt much.

BTW: That cult beat your ass big time about 3 weeks ago.

Suck on it.

Based on a qualitative judgement that you have made that you can't support (or won't).

Why would you look for an answer to a question that is based on a lie.

Put your metrics up and let's discuss all pols by them. Not just Trump.

You don't do this to well.

I am participating.

I have pointed out that your question is based on lies. Either you support them or we'll drag this thread down to where it belongs in the outhouse of left wing butthurt.

I didn't voice an opinion of you, Mac. I simply asked you to ignore all of the bullshit and base your decisions not on "popularity and influence" but on performance. I don't particularly like Donald Trump. I don't like brash people. I do however grasp the fact that he understands policy that works and gives us that. MAGA isn't a real thing...it's a slogan. It's meaningless without good policies. Kamala Harris offered us slogans with policies that had been shown to be bad. THAT is why she lost and Trump won. It's got nothing to do with anything else.

I'm not talking about performance. I tried to make this clear.

I'll try one more time with you: Do you believe the criticisms of Trump are accurate and you're willing to overlook them, or are they just dishonesty and lies from his opponents?

This isn't that complicated.

Are we talking about criticisms of Trump's personality or are we talking about criticisms of his policies?

My father served four terms as a Selectman in our town in Massachusetts. He wasn't a politician per se but he had to deal with them. He told me that the ONLY thing that counted with politicians was what they had done! Not what they promised...because a promise means nothing if you don't back it up...but what they had actually gotten done!

That's not complicated at all!

Okay, so I'll pledge to keep any criticism or any degree of attacks out of this conversation. Hopefully you will too, but we'll see how it goes.

Full Disclosure: I've been able to adjust my relationships with my Trump-voting friends and family to where we either don't discuss politics, or we just keep our political conversations at a point where we're agreeing on something. That's it. Those relationships are too important to us to risk. Period.

So I'm going to ask you guys the question I would ask them if I were willing to risk those relationships. It's at the heart of my concerns about MAGA, and I know it's a question often asked by people across the political spectrum who remain horrified about what's happening. But clearly, his base (NOT everyone who voted for him, but his BASE), clearly believe America is in serious danger and he is the one person who can fix this.

Personally, while I have several general issue agreements with MAGA (see link at bottom here), I also believe (as do many across the political spectrum) that getting what I may want politically is not worth selling my soul to anyone (and that's what I think it is), let alone a person of such deeply poor moral character and obvious mental instability. I/we also strongly disagree with this simplistic, heavy, ham-handed approach, refusal to collaborate/innovate, and obvious indications of European-style autocratic authoritarianism. That's just my personal opinion.

Please vote/comment, and no attacks are on the way in response. Thanks in advance.

Where does Mac1958 actually stand on the issues?
Reasons I voted for Donald J Trump

1- The Socialist Demon Rats hate the US and its Freedoms, have engaged in treasonous seditious acts as demonstrated by :

(a) the fact that they have allowed thus far 15,000,000 illegals to waltz in even though they have no statutory or Constitutional Authority to do so;

b- They have turned Ukraine into a CIA outpost , they have ignored the principles applied to the Cuban Missile Crisis and now they seek a nuclear WW3 against Russia

c- they want to adopt Marxism using price controls, inflating the fuck out of the currency , declaring those who support and defend the Constitution as "domestic terrorists", forcing WE THE PEOPLE to drive EVs

(d) stole the November 2020 election then installed a demented woke son of a bitch as president

(e) ad nauseam

One can read media influence into much of this thread....~S~

Yes Trump's character and history matter to me. He showed me incredible strength of character when we was shot by an assassin. Instead of staying safe shielded by 6 Secret Service men he stood up and exposed himself to be shot again, defiantly raised his fist and said FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!! That's the guy I want as Commander-In-Chief.

Yes, those are some of the standard talking points.

Were you going to answer my question?

Observation:

The OP is somewhat subtle in trying to denigrate Trump. But it’s funny that libs who endorse scum like President Potato and VP HeelsUp focus on only Trump.
