Too many things don't math. The number of usual total votes in the KY-4th CD essentially doubled. Massie got his usual number of 50,000 votes more or less but Gallrein, who didn't have rallies of any size, and didn't debate after refusing 9 debate challenges from Massie, somehow finds 57,000 new primary voters to beat Massie, almost all over 65 years old.
-Ed Gallrein increased the voter turnout, in his race against the incumbent “Thomas Massie” by 356%. This has never once happened in any primary election in U.S. history going back to the 1970.
-Total voter turnout out in a primary increased by over 100%. Going from 52,593 in 2024 to 105,361 in 2026. This has also never once happened in a primary election since 1970.
Massie's supporters have every reason to want verification of the Hart Intercivic machine vote-count which handed Ed Gallrein the victory. This can be done through scrutiny of the digital ballot images automatically produced by these machines. Massie has conceded, as is his right. But it is also the right of his supporters to, as a famous American politician once said, "trust, but verify."

"Ballot images are digital pictures of paper ballots that are created by electronic voting machines when each ballot is scanned. These images are anonymous and do not identify individual voters. They serve as a backup record of each ballot cast, providing a way to verify the accuracy of the vote count. Ballot images can be used to review and verify vote totals, and they can also be used to identify any disparities or errors in the vote counting process."

Digital Ballot Images: Key to Trustworthy Elections & Bridging Our Great Divide - WhoWhatWhy
Given the extent to which election transparency is in the public interest, we are all stakeholders with a constructive role to play in finding the right way to achieve it.
