Ceasefire (including Lebadon) and return of assets are just conditions to start negotiations. If you don't do it - ok, there will be no negotiations at all.

Iran has a lot of cards - alliance with Russia and China, that provides him virtually unlimited flow of modern weapons and equipment, 92 mln strong population, well motivated to fight foreign invaders, allies in Lebadon, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, etc, simpathizers all over the world, including USA, control over Hormuz strait, etc...
