It was Israels action towards inciting the USA to be against the Islamic Republic of Iran, and it's suppression of Palestinians since 1948 - that resulted in the Islamic Republic of Iran backing anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian organizations. Upon Israels attack onto Lebanon and the PLO in 1982 - Iran went active and started turning these organizations into their proxies. Just as Israel prior had turned factions in Lebanon into their proxies until today.

Whilst at the same time Israel was providing limited, covert military support to Iran - to fight off the Iraqi invaders - since they viewed Iraq as the greater danger to Israel - whilst the USA was providing support to Iraq to hammer Iran. !!!

Heres some understanding about where Iran is coming from. They also used children in the Iran Iraq war to storm the mine fields... whatever the complex relationship IS that you talk about, it doesnt change the fact that Iran does not care about Palestinian civilians. HOw could they when they dont even care about their own people?
Consider this, Iran sent Hammas inside of Gaza billions of dollars worth of support and what was it mostly? building celaborate oncrete tunnels that ran for hundreds of miles.. all to protect HAMMAS fighters and their weapons. Whenever Israelis made retaliatory strikes inside Gaza, civilians were left out side of those concrete tunnels to die. How many bomb shelters were built for Palestinians? there was plenty enough financial aid to do so.... all funding from Iran was for war purposes... not to make peoples lives better.
This is the mentality Israel is up against. Also which Jew in Iran heads a ministry? from what I can see there is only one who holds a single seat in parliament. Inside of Israel, 2 million Palestinans live there and have much more than that.
