The thing that has so many of the left wrong freaking out this time, is that a Justice just died who leaned heavily in the direction of explicitly using the Supreme Court to subvert the legislative process, and now Trump is going to replace her with someone who appears to lean heavily in the direction of upholding and protecting the Constitution.

I can say the same thing about rightists using legislation and the courts. I saw it happen right here in my own town in the mid 90's. A minority uses the court and legislation to impose its will on the majority.

Yes, she should be replaced. After the election. If Trump wins, ACB gets confirmed and I'll have no issue with that. If Trump loses, Biden gets to nominate his own judge. McConnell set this standard. I don't give two shits if Trump is an incumbent. There is still a possibility of a new President being selected. The people deserve a say in the matter.

You make a strong argument for repubs packing the courts if trump wins, simply because the next time dems are in power, they will do just that. So, trump might as well just beat them to the punch.

Maybe trump can add...10 more? Make it 16 to 3? Would dems have the fortitude to add another 14 members, give us a 33 member scotus?

Is this the new thing? Every new administration the scotus will grow? Going to have to build a football stadium sized court building for them before long.
