Male athletes do quite well thank youAnd screw the male athletes who are collateral damage in the meantime, right? Again, so generous of you.

That was your university's fault. They did not sponsor enough sports for girls.
Not when their programs are pulled right out from under them. Most college athletes don't play big-time D1 football or basketball. Most college athletes go to college to get an education. Years and years of incredibly hard work make that possible for male and female athletes.Male athletes do quite well thank you
Same applies to femalesNot when their programs are pulled right out from under them. Most college athletes don't play big-time D1 football or basketball. Most college athletes go to college to get an education. Years and years of incredibly hard work make that possible for male and female athletes.
I was a girl's high school coach. My job according to my athletic director was to get more girls to participate to even out the numbers. I was the girl's flag football coach and assistant cross-country coach. My main job was getting girls to play. I had the largest girl's flag football team probably in the northeastern part of Florida. Who we couldn't beat with talent we overwhelmed by numbers and fresh legs. Every girl played, win or lose and I had numbers that rivaled the boys' teams in other schools. Some schools didn't put forth the effort. They applied a brutish and easy formula to avoid lawsuits instead of doing work to determine demand, and instead just went with enrollment.
And I went to a college, not a university, and no football team so that wasn't a factor.
You noticed the part where I said, "male and female athletes"? Don't be so eager to respond to a straw man that you don't actually read the posts.Same applies to females
They compete because they love it
Just like males

You make the demand.I am talking more about colleges, and more about the smaller colleges, and the impact well below the high end big University stage.
The wrestling team got pulled my sophomore year. The guys could keep their scholarships, but the team was no more.
All to make sure the NUMBER of women and men in athletics matched the enrollment ratio, and nothing to do with demand for said athletic spots.
And once again you are generously prepared to screw male athletes to fulfill your quotas. There is no straw man
Title IX offered opportunities for women to compete and get scholarships
It has been enormously successful
Just look at how our women do in the Olympics compared to other countries
^^^At some colleges/universities, a big company like New Balance would decide that a new "X" sport at a local school would be good advertisement. The school's AD would find himself with a fat sack o cash, and a new "X" field with uniforms and equipment included would soon be under construction. Ah, but since "X" is a men's sport, the school would find itself in violation of Title IX. Nowhere near enough interest to field an additional women's sport, so a men's sport would have to go. Next thing you know, half a dozen or more male athletes, often the first in their family to attend college and only able to do so via scholarship, would be shit outta luck. Their coach, after dedicating decades of his life and skill specifically to help serve said demographics, would be out of town on the first bus with a big fat knife in his back. Thanks Title IX. Didn't matter that every female athlete on every woman's team signed a petition in support of the men's sport on the chopping block, political correctness must be served.
You make the demand.

"Do well" meaning what? Most female athletes I knew in college "did well" academically as well.Male athletes do quite well
Better than females
Male athletes have more opportunity to turn pro"Do well" meaning what? Most female athletes I knew in college "did well" academically as well.
What did I tell you? Most college athletes, male or female, have no pro option. That's why they get as solid an education as they can. Pay attention.Male athletes have more opportunity to turn pro
...
And that is the pointWhat did I tell you? Most college athletes, male or female, have no pro option. That's why they get as solid an education as they can. Pay attention.
And if there aren't enough women interested and talented enough to field a team, screw the male athletes who have to be sacrificed on the altar of political correctness? And that is the point
Women have as much opportunity as the men
Thanks Title IX
