This is My Great-great-great Grandfather on my Fathers side
Fought for the North... taken approx. 1862

This is my Great-great-great Grandfather on my Mother's side, who actually fought for the south in Virginia.
Photo is believed to have been taken in 1908.

This is my Great-great Grandmother... the man above's daughter. And she looks remarkably like my mother.
Taken in 1883. She was 17 years old.

This is my Great Grandmother on my mother's side. She was my mother's father's mother
who had to leave Germany with her boy (my grandfather) circa 1880 or 1890 in order
to protect the bloodlines of the boy's father, who was a Prussian Baron.

The older man I posted, he was then the 4th generation in America. My Mother's side goes way-way back in early America. His great-great grandfather was the first here. He and his wife came here in the 1760s and settled in Virgina. (From Germany)
My fathers side is different. The man you see in first picture was the first to immigrate here, also from Germany.

Oh - one more thing... again the first man... they named their daughter "America Elizabeth" for being the first child born here.

I have an old photo somewhere of my great,great,great uncle in Canada when he was a lumberjack.
He and the guy he was with were absolutely covered in mosquitos in the Canadian Rockies.

Cuthbert Nattrass 1811-1891.

Immigrated from England and then came to California during the Gold Rush.
