I think 25 years is probably unrealistically long. However, we definitely need to halt all immigration for a few years until we can figure out what our needs are.
An we should only allow immigrants in who want to be part of American culture and will learn to speak English.
Period.
What is "American Culture"?
Because we celebrate Cinco Di Mayo, Pulaski Day, Columbus Day, St. Patty's Day, Chinese New Year, Oktoberfest, and all those other dirty stinkin' foreign holidays and parties.
My poor wife has been trying to learn English for 10 years, she still hasn't mastered it.
The ability to speak English is less important now that everyone has a translator on their phone.
As for our needs, we know what our needs are. We don't have enough young people to replace the old people who are dying or retiring.
if you want to see what a country with no immigration looks like, look at Japan.
