Virginia Governor Ends Tax Breaks for Confederate Groups.

As an American this discussion is my place, so **** off on that shit.

does the CDA impose Jim Crow on people currently? Are they breaking any laws with their activities?

Placing a monument to someone that fought to keep people in slavery in front of a court house or city building was a form of Jim Crow.

Now we have addressed some of that, not that it hasn't pissed many off.

The only one that was about Jim Crow was the Liberty Square one in New Orleans and I agree that one was stupid.

But the rest were what the winners of the Civil War allowed the losers to do as mourning their dead and their loss.

People 150 years later that didn't shed blood fighting have no right to do otherwise.

The new law signed by Gov. Abigail Spanberger is the culmination of a long, Democrat-led push to distance Virginia from its Confederate past.

Gov. Abigail Spanberger of Virginia has signed into law a bill to end tax exemptions for a slate of Confederacy-related organizations in the state.

The signing by Ms. Spanberger on Monday is the culmination of a yearslong Democrat-led push to shake off the state’s legacy as the capital of the 11 Southern, slaveholding states that seceded from the country in the 1860s.

The new law’s most significant target is the United Daughters of the Confederacy, founded in 1894 for descendants of Confederates. The organization’s stated purpose is to honor the members’ ancestors through, among other things, working with homeless shelters, food banks and other civic groups. Throughout its history, the group built hundreds of Confederate memorials around the country, which have become flash points for protests over historical memory and racial injustices in the last decade.

I am PROUD and LOUD SON of THE SOUTH. My family settled in what is now Brinkley, Arkansas after the War of 1812. I am the son, grand son and great grand son of newspaper men who rebuilt the press after 1861, My Grandmother was a Daughter of the Confederacy. She was ALSO a racist. What the Governor of Virginia has done was a long time coming and I salute her for it.
In lib la la land its different strokes for different folks

And thats unAmerican

Slavery was not the only issue

But I notice that now the left hates all white people instead of just the Confederates

Sadly many of the winners didnt care about the freed slaves either.

It's never too late to right a wrong.

It is wrong to make a black man walk past a monument to a man that would have kept his family in slavery as he goes into a courthouse.

There's that white leftist soft racism thinking black people are so fragile a Statue can give them the vapors.

Then why are there no statues of Nat Turner?

Why can CRT be taught?

Are white people so fragile that teching our entire history can give them the vapors?

Racist scum.

It seems to be the case with you.....

Nope. Again, there was that one Statue that memorialized a redeemer coup in New Orleans that I can understand removing, but the rest are memorials to those who fought in the Civil War, and lost.

Meanwhile we now get statues of Teddy Roosevelt taken down, and idiots defacing the memorial to the 54th Massachusetts Regiment.

If you want a Nat Turner Statue, make one. I would support it.

Why not just execute all the descendants of the Confederates? I mean if we are punishing them for the crimes of their ancestors, why not?

Obviously the left believes in blood guilt and punishing people for alleged crimes that happens centuries ago. Yet this is only directed towards white people. If we suggested blacks be punished for the crimes of their parents, they’d be screaming racism.
