Offseason QB "upgrades" list getting shorter as major QB prospects stay in school.

The NYJ the past few decades
Todd McShay insisting Brady Quinn really was the next great QB

Heck, the Texans are now starting to question CJ Stroud, who, after a great rookie year, has regressed noticably...

Easy to make the calls after the fact, tard. I'll ask again why arent you working for an NFL team making 6+figures as a draft analyst?

2024 Darnold was the best QB in the league on passes that had 20 or more air yards.

He can throw a long slow highly arced pass when he has time to step into the throw. He doesn't have a cannon arm like Willis or Rattler. 20 yards isn't that far. Pavia has a stronger arm than Darnold. And Darnold has a wind up in his delivery.

Jordan Love's arm isn't that strong either, but both MN and GB have had good OL play recently, and good receivers.

ALL YOU DO IS STAT PARROT....

Those jobs are for former players etc. Connections get you those jobs.

One of the best examples was Scott Pioli. KC hired Scott Pioli as a GM because Pioli was "NFL Exec of the Year" or something like that in New England, meaning he said YES to Belichick. So into KC came Scott Pioli, and switch to the 3-4 was the plan, because Belichick used it, except that very same year Belichick switched to a 4-3, Pioli spent a #3 overall on a mid round caliber 3-4 DE and let Jason Babin walk for nothing (he had like 60 sacks the following 4 years) never mind Babin was flashing late that season for KC, except Pioli didn't have Bellichick to point that out to him....

A sum total of 2 of the GM's in the league are former players. Any other bull shit you'd like me to debunk with a 3 sec google search?

Just so we are clear. The fact that Darnold was the best in the league statistically throwing the ball over 20 yards (by a wide margin) is irrelevant to the discussion of whether Darnold is good at throwing the ball over 20 yards down the field? That's your contention?

Doesn't change the fact that they don't do well in the Draft.

There are other things besides stat parroting.

Pass protection for one, the Vikings and Seahawks gave him good pass protection, so he could step into throws and do his windup before being hit.

Receivers are another, Vikings and Seattle have "plus" receivers.

Does Sam Darnold have a strong arm relative to NFL QBs? NO. It isn't a weak arm, but it isn't Willis or Rattler.

Does Sam Darnold have elite downfield accuracy?

A - he does if the pass protection is perfect and he can step up and do his windup, but even with that he has to float/arc passes more than 25 yards, because his arm isn't strong enough to zip, laser, rocket the ball etc...

NFL Trade Rumors is reporting the Bears are getting offers for Tyson Bagent...

NYJ connected to Davis Mills and Tanner McKee as QB possibilities

49ers require "fairly strong" offer to part with Mac Jones

Malik rumored $30-35 mil per

The PANIC begins!!!

They are connected. The same crowd goes in, comes out, goes to another.
Like I said. Moving the goal posts. 1st it was former players were the GM's then when that was shown to be patently false it's something else. There is a clear career path that most NFL GM's take. It starts in talent evaluation in the scouting dept. Seems like someone who's as good as you think you are at evaluating talent would get a job in an NFL scouting dept quickly. Instead you're here on a message board posting shit takes.

A hobby not a profession...

You’re not better at this than the professionals. You just aren’t.

That is always the cry of the parrot.

I'm parroting, and the guru I parrot is better than you.

You will never learn to think for yourself at your age. You only understand parroting. How sad...

The climate change debate has many like you, and they are completely refuted, and too stupid to notice...

The Saints don't want to trade a young quarterback on a rookie contract who improved as a sophomore, but teams need developmental passers, and Rattler is the best candidate this spring. Rattler excelled as more of a quick-distribution point guard last season, but he also showed good creation ability on longer, movement dropbacks. He could fight -- and easily beat out -- a free agent veteran in training camp for a rebuilding team

Top offseason QB options

Draft Mendoza = Raiders
outbid rest of NFL for Malik Willis = expensive $$$
trade for Rattler - likely will be expensive but compared to the Draft.... easily worth a 2nd rounder if not more, ready to start Day 1.

It's just an acknowledgement that someone who does something for a living and has been doing it their entire life, and has access to huge amounts of information that I do might just might, be better at their job than I am at their job. The amount of hubris and arrogance it requires to think that you know better than all these people is frankly astounding. I will note that when the experts agree with you, you are happy to "parrot" them. It's only when someone else uses their takes to support what they think that they are all idiots and anyone who agrees with them is a "parrot".

To be fair, again the "success rate" is reportedly 50-50 on first rounders? Any of us can do that.

Sure but that success rate is based on our access to a bunch of information. Much of it analysis done by the people EMH says dont know what they are talking about. Remove that and your success rate drops off precipitously. No one has the time or the inclination to watch a bunch of tape on a WR out of East Tennessee State to know that he's actually a monster even though no one has heard of him.

Josh Allen played at Wyoming
Mahomes played at TT
Maye at UNC

No one would have been tracking those guys (maybe Mahomes he was putting up gaudy numbers in that air raid offense) without the constant new cycle/sports network shows constantly needing NFL shit to talk about.

But this isn’t parroting….

Sourced parroting is part of every topic here.

Your parroting is you take someone else's opinion and appropriate it as "your opinion."

MY TAKES on Rattler and Willis predate all of this. It is possible they are parroting EMH.
