November 22nd - JFK Assassination Day!

I was in first grade class, the teacher made us put our heads down, and turned out the lights. just after noon, in Denver, November, a cold dry day. My Father died on died on such a day, November 20 1974. A black kid let me weep on his shoulder. Nobody else did that, and I remember.

I remember quite well sitting in Physics class and a teacher appeared in the door and said the president was dead. What I remember is that didn't know what my reaction should be. But I do remember some of the other boys cheering which seem kinda strange. Other then that I don't remember a whole lot of crying.

Kennedy went from being a questionable president to a legend on that day. Had he not been shot I don't believe his legacy would be as grand as it is today. After all he was the ultimate in conservative, "ask not what your country can do for you....." He would be loathed by the Democrat party today.

Other then that it is my firm belief that a sad little man name Oswald killed a president. Doesn't seem to fit the bill a little man perpetrating one of the greatest crimes in history. It is out of balance so I don't really blame those who think he could not act alone. But since no one else has stepped forward it very well must have been him. As with Lennon, Ford and Reagan they all had their assassins only one successful. No conspiracy, no coup just a screw up by the SS.

Kennedy was not an 'ultimate conservative'. He was as liberal as Bobby and Ted.

Ted was the black sheep.

JFK, lowered taxes, reduced government interference and said "ask not....;" Sounds more conservative then most we have today.

I am not doubting you weeped but I wonder why. Back then Presidents were almost abstract people since all we barely had were black and white TVs. It just seems interesting that a 6 year old would cry over the news.

You misunderstood, I wept when my father died on the 20th of November. 1974. When Kennedy died in 22nd of 63', I didn't understand. But we all knew it was a big loss, none the less.

"Ultimate conservatives" in 1963 opposed Kennedy's demand-side Keynesian tax cuts.

"Ultimate conservatives" is 1963 opposed JFK's call for the pubic good over private gain (ask not).

"Ultimate conservatives" opposed JFK programs and proposals like Medicare, the War on Poverty, and President Kennedy's first executive order in office to reinstate the food stamp pilot program.

I remember republicans hating on JFK when he got elected, much like they hate on Obama now.

I remember not being able to find ANYTHING else on tv except constant updates on Kennedy's funeral, etc.

its impossible to forget that horrible day,it altered the course of history not only for america but the world as well forever in the fact he was the last REAL president america had not a puppet for the eastablishment. He served the people instead of the bankers like every president since him has and he paid the price for it.our right to freely elect our leaders was taken away from us that day.

He was returning us to the constitution where the people had control over the government instead of all these businesses and corporations that do now.

He wasnt being their willing puppet doing what they told him to do like every president since him has done which is why they have all stayed alive.

If you truly believe that, you need more help than I can give you. There is NO politician that serves the "people". Politicians, by nature serve special interests and ONLY those special interests that will further their political aspirations. Kennedy was the first politician that cared more about pussy than he did "the people". Hell, where do you think that asshole Clinton got his ideas from? :)

one of the brainwashed sheople who cant face facts.yeah he didnt care about people, thats why he signed the executive order that was going to get rid of the federal reserve and put us back on the gold standard again. the federal reserve is why the world is in the mess it is today.:cuckoo:

here, get educated.and facts facts you have been brainwahed your whole life into belieing this is free country.

he signed the executive order that was going to get rid of the federal reserve

The EO did nothing to the Federal Reserve.

and put us back on the gold standard again

Nope. The EO had nothing to do with the gold standard.

That.

From the following is how food stamps worked at first, do you think that is what we have today?

The pilot programs would retain the requirement that the food stamps be purchased, but eliminated the concept of special stamps for surplus foods. A Department spokesman indicated the emphasis would be on increasing the consumption of perishables. Isabelle Kelley, who was part of the four-person team that designed the new program, became its first director and the first woman in USDA to head an action program.

Mr. and Mrs. Alderson Muncy of Paynesville, West Virginia, were the first food stamp recipients on May 29, 1961. They purchased $95 in food stamps for their 15-person household. In the first food stamp transaction, they bought a can of pork and beans at Henderson's Supermarket. By January 1964, the pilot programs had expanded from eight areas to 43 (40 counties, Detroit, St. Louis, and Pittsburgh) in 22 States with 380,000 participants.

A Short History of SNAP Food and Nutrition Service

BTW, you need to read the article and realize that he storyline spewed by the left is nothing but a crock. The requirement to purchase food stamps ended under Nixon. EBT, electronic transfer, was done under Reagan.

OK, sorry, that does make sense then.

How will you be spending the day? Remembering or just another day to booze?

JFK Assassination Day? Oh..... I thought you meant the day the other slimeball Kennedy murdered... I mean assassinated... I mean accidently let that girl drown

America died that day...in many ways. Primarily because our gov lied to us and covered it up....and now it lies all the time.

I don't think so. Govt was lying to us before kennedy was assassinated.
You don't think so...wtf is that? Did you fail to comprehend my post?

Gov always lies....

And...anyone who thinks Oswald was a leftist is uninformed and has accepted gov lies.

i was stationed at NAS Atsugi Japan, we got the notice of JFK's death about 04:00, we had a RED alert, rushed to the flight line, armed our aircraft, F3H 2M Demons with missiles, and pilots in cockpits ready to launch if/when given the order, we stayed in RED alert till about sundown Japan time.

being out of country and in the Navy, the impact of JFK's death was/had little effect on me personally, but i did recall when he was "elected" my Mother told me, "you better vote for him or i will disown you", it was a jokingly suggestion.

America didn't die that day. That's just sensationalism. I gathered, from your post, that you thought our govt was innocent until kennedy was assassinated.

"Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country". Too bad today's libs have no idea of what that means.

sorry...both concepts are wrong...you should take responsibility for yourself and your family, and not look for government hand outs, which are simply strings, meant to entrap you....and you should not look to the country as part of a Borg collective....

Embrace the Bill of Rights, and the Constitutional separation of powers and strong checks and balances....and respect each human being as an individual, not as part of some group...and we will all prosper and be,happier....

he opposed the communists and cut taxes....these were good things....but as a human being....he was pretty vile....you can't be vile in your personal life and be a good person....
