Newly Unsealed Court Docs Reveal Stacks of Mar-a-Lago Boxes Did NOT Contain State Secrets

7 Jul 2023 ~~ By Patrick Webb

Newly unsealed court documents in Trump indictment reveal that DOJ-laced pictures of Mar-a-Lago boxes did not contain state secrets: FBI agent who signed the warrant stated the boxes also contained “challenge coins, garment bags, memorabilia, photograph frames and other décor”
Furthermore redacted from the Mar-a-Lago search warrant affidavit AG Garland agreed to publicly release was the fact that a US Secret Service officer escorted Trump’s lawyers into the storage room during the search for classified docs to comply with grand jury subpoena in June 2022.

Commentary:
Surprise!! Looks like the case against Trump is falling apart.
The total haul of classified documents fills less than one half of one box.
From memory - the total pages of classified documents is 200-400 pages.
Half of that is probably just title covers!
The people who still believe Trump collided with Russia will still believe that there were top secret documents in the ballroom and bathroom, while claiming stolen documents from a Senate SCiIF by Biden and unsecured classified documents sequestered in D.C. Chinatown, UPenn, Biden's garage and beach house are not of any importance.

Obviously this is all done as a show..

But 71 classified docs out of 15,000 total docs, does imply it may have not been known.
However, it still is perfectly legal for presidents to give themselves copies of classified docs, so they can keep them for their memoirs, etc.
The only time it is illegal is if FOIA never gets a copy, through NARA or PRA.

Okay, if it's not known, then Trump would have been willing to cooperate. He'd have said "oh, yeah, come pick them up, I didn't realize"

But he didn't. He acted like a spoiled child. He did everything he could to hide the documents.
This is the problem. Had it just been classified documents which he handed over straight away, it wouldn't have been a problem.

Your idiot source is wrong. The boxes DID contain classified documents. It says so right in the FBI affidavit. That's why your source did not link to anything.

Trumps mixed our nation's secrets willy-nilly with his knick-knacks.

Now read the affidavit and see for yourself: https://www.axios.com/2022/08/26/doj-fbi-affidavit-trump-mar-a-lago

The affidavit says the footage showed that on May 24, Witness 5 — a person described in the indictment as Nauta — was observed carrying three boxes inside Mar-a-Lago. Two days later, Nauta was interviewed by FBI agents. He allegedly denied knowing much of anything about the location or movement of boxes at Trump’s home and private club, beyond the fact that 15 boxes had been sent from there in early 2022 to the National Archives and Records Administration. Those boxes were later found to contain some 184 classified documents.

New details of Trump Mar-a-Lago search warrant request unsealed

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How many pages should a secret of our nation require?
And too, did the DOJ or the FBI ever claim that all the boxes contained our nation's secrets?
Or did they say that some boxes contained some of our nation's secrets?

And too, do we have all the boxes? Have they all been examined?

Reportage about the recent court hearing of Waltine Nauta stated he is on film removing something like 50 boxes from the storage area just prior to the FBI coming to examine 'em...... yet later film shows he returned only about half of 'em.
The reportage stated that no one knows at this time...or at least, no one is publicly acknowledging .....just where these missing boxes currently reside.

So there is that.

IMHO......Waltine Nauta is kinda sorta an important player in this drama. Anyone wanna bet that the disgraced ex-president is doing all he can to keep Nauta's own secrets.....secret?
~~~~~~
Does that also go for the Sensitive SCIF documents Jie Biden stole from the Senate SCIF room as Senator before he was VP?
Are there any statutes of limitation on the theft of highly secret documents from a Senate SCIF?
Your Honor you must find my client Not Guilty of Bank Robbery. He passed by hundreds or even thousands banks he did not rob. This makes him innocent of the twenty he did rob.
You Fanboys are insane.
That adds up to a whole lot of dumb, inexperienced kids, voting for Democrats. No wonder they want to lower the voting age to 16. They want to expand the number of dumb people voting, since that's obviously their biggest constituency.
Yeah for some reason, adult Democrats can't see just how upside down it is that the majority of teenagers think they same way they do. I guess they believe that for the first time in history, kids are the wise ones. Amazing stuff.
False equivalence.
Your honor, the bank robbers took the money and hid it in my clients garage without his knowledge and when he eventually found the money, he notified the authorities...would be a much more relevant comparison.
Except in this case, the client had others shuffle the money around to hide it from his own lawyers.
Oh and let’s not forget the Client claimed that the money was his. And the seizure of it was a witch-hunt.
So not all the boxes contained state secrets.
Big whoop. It’s the ones that did that matter
No one ever claimed that they did.
Yes, that is what got Trump in the most trouble.
Yep.
Usually when documents are found unsecured in senior political types. The staff just secures it. In the case of Biden and Pence, the files were discovered and turned in to the authorities. The authorities are happy to write it off as inadvertent retention. A mistake.
It would be as if you brought the work keys home. You discover them in your pocket and call work to let the night shift know you have them. They can either have you come and return them, send someone to recover them, or tell you to bring them back in the morning.
You made a mistake. A human mistake. And you admitted to the mistake. A mistake is easy to forgive when you consider that we all make them.
But a mistake requires honesty and seeking to rectify. You can say the files were inadvertently included in boxes by mistake. You can say that if you call and admit the mistake when you discover them. You can’t claim that if you stick the files in your socks to sneak them out. And you can’t claim that if you shuffle them and hide them from a Lawyer seeking to comply with a Subpoena.
Then like the documents in the socks it becomes a question of intentionally doing something wrong.
A Presidential Example. No evidence has ever existed that Nixon ordered the break in of the DNC at the Watergate Hotel. However Nixon did order the coverup and withholding of evidence.
