The final chapter in Garland's feckless treatment of trump may have just been written.

Trump classified documents case: DOJ drops appeal against co-defendants

The Department of Justice on Wednesday ended an effort to prosecute two men in Florida for allegedly helping their former co-defendant President Donald Trump hide classified government documents from officials seeking their recovery.

The DOJ, in a court filing, asked to voluntarily dismiss an appeal that sought to revive its criminal case against the men: Trump’s valet, Walt Nauta, and Carlos De Oliveira, a worker at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida.

“The government has conferred with counsel for Appellees Waltine Nauta and Carlos De Oliveira, who do not object to the voluntary dismissal,” Miami U.S. Attorney Hayden O’Byrne wrote in the filing at the 11th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.

You could see this coming from Nebraska. Everyone, EVERYONE, knew Pam would dutifully drop the case against the trump's co-defendants. A predictable end to trump using lawfare to escape accountability for his crimes.

Had Merrick, who sometimes acted in ways leading me to believe Billy Barr was whispering in his ear, dropped the case against Nauta and De Oliveira before Pam occupied his office it would have enabled the DoJ to make Smith's report on the docs case available to the public. A report having information about Kash Patel's testimony regarding his involvement in trump's crime. Testimony he only gave after getting immunity from criminal prosecution. Why would that be?

If I were a senator questioning Kash during his confirmation hearing it's info I would have liked to have had. Alas, Merrick must have needed to feel the satisfaction of abiding by protocol one last time. Just as he did by doddering for months before the J6 committee's revelations on the failed attempt to disenfranchise the votes of millions of Americans forced him, reluctantly, to name Smith as a SC.

Bondi did what she was told to do.
One wonders if she had her fingers crossed under the table during her entire confirmation hearing testimony. That little bit of Kabuki theater being followed by nominee after nominee lying their asses off, or refusing the answer questions, about their soon to be unfailing fealty to the Felon-in-Chief's whims.

and yet she got confirmed....

It's funny that you fail to mention Biden's lapdog Garland.

The lawfare must be stopped.

When Patel's FBI shows up at democrat homes 3AM with permission to use lethal force, what will you say?

berg80, we look at your dozens (or hundreds or thousands) of Trump Hate threads and laugh.

Are you such an attention whore that you'll take any attention, even if it is derisive?

Pathetic.

Folks, this is the left cult.
