.....The progressive left -- the liberals in our society -- almost always side with Muslims against American ideas and laws and, in particular, against Christian beliefs and practices. It is a curiosity, to say the least. You would think that Islam and liberalism had nothing in common and were diametrically opposed to one another. But the two belief systems actually have much in common. Liberals and Muslims despise most of what patriotic, religious Americans cherish and revere. This makes them common enemies of the American enterprise: comrades de guerre, so to speak.

Where there is conflict between the Islamic and leftist ideologies, the Muslims always prevail. Progressives will never confront the Islamists, in the fear that to do so would weaken their ally, or that it could produce a backlash so violent and devastating that the beneficial alliance would be destroyed forever.

Still, it is amazing to watch progressives continue to defend and support their Muslim allies in light of the latter's historical and continuing offenses against the most hallowed tenets of liberalism: hanging homosexuals; stoning adulterers; maiming criminals; abusing and raping women and children; beheading and crucifying non-believers; killing, dismembering, and having sex with the corpses of women; invading embassies and torturing and killing Americans and raping the body of the ambassador. Instead of getting tough with the Islamists for their horrors, the president and his leftist followers cover for them.

The horrific crimes and depredations committed by Islamists are endless, yet liberals manage to "tolerate" them. You would think that people with any kind of claim to a moral mantle would not be able to tolerate so much evil. Such is liberalism.

Liberals cope with these contradictions by denying that they exist or by convincing themselves that Islamic practices are justified and the result of cultural differences, poverty, Zionism, or something George Bush did....

Definitely one of the most fascinating topics regarding the Regressive Left for me as well. Four potential reasons for this behavior:

1. Their intense distaste for Christianity
2. Their intense distaste for conservatives, i.e., "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"
3. Their hatred for America's history and traditions, as if other countries are pristine
4. Their shared desire to see American "fundamentally changed", even at other costs

We'll never know, because it's essentially impossible to get honesty out of zealots. I would only remind you that these people do not represent everyone to the left of center. They're the hardcore types, the True Believers, represented fairly well on this board.

There won't be any Muslims jailed until the LGBT Church has many ranks infiltrated in authority and law enforcement positions. Then they'll haul in the Muslims; when they have an army large enough to take them on. The trouble is, Christians and Muslims in the US are fighting the same enemy: depravity. And when five people in DC silenced hundreds of millions of voices on that front, decent people are no longer able to fight off that which the radical Islamics hate us for. "Us" is a very diverse group in the USA.. Statistics are misleading. You have a tiny group in Hollywood named "GLAAD" depicting a wholly false image of what true, everyday Americans are like. They've become so successful at their influence, that our youngsters are thinking it's reality. And soon it will be if we keep having our hands tied by 5 people in DC.

Perhaps the Islamic terrorists are lumping in everyone together as "American pigs"? If the US would return the taboos against homosexuality to the fore and root it out of our media; just let it be on its own, not in everyone's face, then unfortunate incidents like the one in Sweden would happen less and less. At the very least the FCC needs to step in and remove the fanning of the flames of outrage and disgust in our sworn enemies. Plus, it could be a good thing for the kids in this country who GLAAD knows are riveted to the boob tube most of the time, to not see promos for sexualized content woven into "informative shows" meant to draw in children.
