Missouri law prevents divorce during pregnancy – even in cases of violence

it also seals in the guys responsibility for the child as said child is born before the divorce is finalized.

Not just the biological parent, but the legal parent as well.

well a paternity test takes care of both things. you = daddy?

then you = legally responsible for financial support.

so the moment she gives birth, then all legal matters change from illegit to legit in terms of a precious little baby? daddy has to pay up legit & legal like while she is on the hook for HIM financially, should he be some asshole in that matter too?

After the test, and court filings, and motions, and so on and so forth. Or with a valid marriage license and birth certificate, it's a fait accompli.

So right off the bat due to this law, or years later due to legal wrangling.

her original marriage license pre dates all of that. it's a draconion way to keep women in their husband's kitchen.

Every first year law student knows the state is not party to the marriage contract.

Then why do they issue it, as opposed to other contracts that are solely between two parties?

Why is the State the only one that can dissolve a marriage contract?
