MILITIAS - The CONSTITUTIONAL means of dealing with government tyranny and over reach

Like it or not...America was founded on principles of God Given Human Rights and the control of government power.
While you may not believe in God, many do, and the Unted States of America was SOLIDLY founded on that belief.

Unfortunately, many do not believe in God. And some very wealthy and powerful people believe that neither God nor the Constitution will stand
in the way of their claim to power and control. As these claim a larger share and revoke more rights, the Constitutional answer is Militias.

But are we at a point where their rise and use is justified?

Are Militias the ONLY way to stop the over step of power and the dilution of Constitutional Rights?

Or.......

Should America simply allow the dilution and over step to continue until it is understood that the Constitution is meaningless and that those who grabbed power illegally are entitled to it?

Americans have suffered a countless barrage of Constitutional breaches and the incursions seem to be on the rise.
These affect not only Republicans, but democrats as well.

The Patriot Act for example give the government unConstitutional Powers over basic Rights enumerated in the Constitution.

Illegal Search and seizures and Warrantless searches have become widely accepted.

We are in fact losing our rights. Next up will be the Biden Administrations self proclaimed "duty" to make America "safe" by making
gun ownership very difficult if not impossible.

At what point are militias necessary to slow, stop or reverse these government grabs of power?

Or, are Militias simply outdated fantasies that have no place in the modern world?

So, the old Sovereign Citizen bullshit. Where anyone with a gun gets to decide what laws apply to them and what don't.

Ask Shay on what the Founders thought of that mindset.

I guess by that standard BLM and Antifa are militias standing up to government overreach.
wrong wrong wrong,,, they are communist revolutionaries hell bent on take over and creating their own government,,,
or wrong wrong wrong,,, they are authoritarian revolutionaries hell bent on take over and creating their own government,,,

Militias are reserved by the state for the sole purpose of using force against federal usurpers.

This function is where 'well regulated' derives.

Unfortunately, what's going on is that some state Republics are doing the federal Republic's dirty work. That's a much deeper discussion.

Recall that America is correctly referred to as a Compound Republic. Or learn it or whatever. I see so many people misdefine our form of government that it's just laughable at this point.

Anyway. A bunch of half-wits can't just form a posse and say they're gonna go fight the government. lolol.
“Militias are reserved by the state for the sole purpose of using force against federal usurpers.”

This is also wrong for the same reason as the OP: there is nothing in the history, text, or case law of the Second Amendment that authorizes insurrectionist dogma.

The original intent of the state militias was to function as a line of first defense in the event of foreign invasion giving Congress time to organize and field an army – a process that could take weeks.

WTF? BLM? ANTIFA?

Creating their own government?

You people are nucken futz!

What are you smokin dude?

I get that you hate them but that's not even remotely accurate. That's out there with the QAnon pedophile canibal thing

I don't think he's purposefully lying.

He just doesn't know what he's talking about.

If his ignorance wasn't so engulfed by pride, it'd actually be excusable.

Constitution

Article II
Section 8

To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;

To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;

And oh yea...there is the description of what a "well regulated militia" consists of

"Appointed Officers"

Trained

Armed

GOVERNED

Ordered

Diciplined

"As precribed by Congress"

There's certain things he won't respond to, I've noticed. I think he's just smart enough to know that his premise isn't legitimate but just enough of a scoundrel to try to sell it to the unsuspecting on the chance that someone who knows better won't see him do it. Heh heh. Ah sht. This place is a hoot.

Militias, who played an important role in defending the new nation are a far cry from the militias of today. They represented a cross section of American society who strongly supported the new government. Today the militias are far more likely to work toward destroying the government than defending it, who would most certainly support a fascist authoritarian regime.

Black is white...Up is down

That was a trump MOB trying to break into the Houses of Congress to stop the Electoral count they didn't agree with

And they were chanting things like

HANG MIKE PENCE

That...is an insurrection whether you agree or not

Nope, we successfully, legally, and peacefully pursued change at the ballot box. We aren't the ones trying to overthrow the election via mob action.

Correct.

The idiocy of the thread premise is that without some sort of consensus, any armed insurrection would be unlawful, un-Constitutional, and treasonous.

Insurrectionist dogma also runs counter to our republican form of government; the people do not express their will directly, they do so via their elected representatives – that’s why the Constitution doesn’t authorize referenda or plebiscites.

Not only is insurrectionist dogma not supported by the Second Amendment, it’s not even supported by the most fundamental tenets of our representative government.
