The filibuster is not the tyranny of the minority - it is a tool that stops action. Government inaction is NOT an example of tyranny by definition no matter if you think it is negative.

The data would indicate that the Democrats not only care about reducing the deficit BUT actually care about what the money does.

As opposed to the GOP money bingers who ensure that unlimited monies go from the government right into the pockets of their rich donors.

1981-1993 GOP blew up the budget, the deficit, and debt.
1993-2001 A Democratic president bought down the deficit to ZERO.
2001-2009 Another GOP president, this time with a GOP congress gave billions to the rich, started two wars not paid for, an unpaid for entitlement, and then, for the closer, destroyed the economy again exploding the debt and deficit.
2009-2017 Obama inherited Bush' mess and worked diligently to reduce the deficit left by Bush by more than 75%.
2017-2021 Trump with a GOP congress gave a trillion bucks to the wealthy again, blowing up the debt and deficit.

First off, neither side is responsible for anything but spending. Presidents work with Congress on budgets, so both the President and Congress need to sign off on the budgets.
