Affordability or Tax Hikes? Spanberger Agenda Caught in Political Crossfire

How's Trump's affordability promise coming along?

Republicans are going to be far more damaged by the "affordability" talking point in the mid terms than the Democrats are.

As for tax hikes:

Democrats: Tax and spend
Republicans: Borrow and spend.

That's why our debt rises faster under Republicans than Democrats.

.
Great he got inflation down to 2.4 percent from the high he inherited from xiden

If the 21st century has taught us anything it’s your last point is a lie. Obama nearly doubled the debt in his term in office. He alone almost added as much debt as every president before him.

I am not lying, there you are repeatedly talking about number of reps

Correct. YOU kept trying to insert population as a red herring.

Population changes DON'T change the number of Reps mid-census.

This was done because Trump told Texas to redistrict to carve out 5 "safe" GOP seats and reduce the number of DEM seats. It wasn't about population, it was about trying to hold a GOP majority in the mid-terms which will neuter Trump legislatively.

When it’s not at all about adding more reps it’s abut making sure district are covering people as equally as possible until they can add a new rep

No it's not, it's about Trump telling Texas he wanted more GOP safe seats.

Why have a district off two million people and one with 500k? Redraw the district to ensure it’s more even. This isn’t a hard concept, unless you intentionally want to miss the point to try and justify your assault on the VA constitution and democracy

No it's about politicial power. Well Texas did it, the SCOTUS confirmed it was OK to do it for dominant politicial power.

Now states are nullifying Texas's action and MAGA is pissed about it.

On April 21st well see if the people in Virginia want to make a temporary change.

Population isn’t a red herring it’s how you determine not just how many reps a state has but also how districts are laid out

Correct. Put that wasn't why they were changed.

Trump told Texas to change to try to get 5 more GOP seats.

In 2020 TX voted 52.06% for Trump 46.48% against. The current Texas delegation is 38 Represenatives (25 GOP and 13 DEM). That means TX has 65.7% GOP Reps and 34.2% DEM even though the GOP/DEM split wasn't even close to that.

The Texas districts were ALREADY heavily weighted to the GOP and Trump told them to change it to gain 5 MORE GOP seats. That would be 30 GOP Reps and 8 DEM Reps - or - 78.9% GOP compared to 21.1% DEM.

The idea that Texas was trying to balance representation is laughable and I can't believe you even believe it but have to cling to something to let you sleep at night instead of telling the truth.

Hey, thanks for the discussion though.

Heading out to work out.

So you can have the last word. Try to be honest for a change.

Of course it was, 2.5 million more people are in TX today, then just five years ago. These people deserve a vote in the house

If you don't see the hypocracy of chastizing Virginia attempting to counter what Texas did, I can't help you.

WW
If we're going down that road, what Texas did was to counter the blue states gerrymandering their districts to guarantee no Republican representation at all, and thus those who complained about Texas are hypocrites as well. IOW, there is no defending what Virginian democrats are doing, and as soon as the next Republican governor and legislature is elected, which should not be long given how badly the Spaminator is performing, this should be completely undone and reversed to ensure only Republicans get elected.
