The filibuster exists in the Senate as each chamber making it's own rules is in the Constitution (Article I, Section 5).

They can't can't "legislate" (as in make them part of the United States Code) rules not in the Constitution, each chamber can create it's own rules. But then the DEMs can just change them back when they are in power.

The House will be conducive for a 50-vote senate. The Progs will pass a dozen pieces of legislation the first day they have total power. If Republicans do it, they have to get every piece of legislation that would need the 50 votes. I know what you are saying. While no fan of Newsom, he would be better than Vance, Don Jr or Miller, who would be running to finish off the country as we know it, and solidify authoritarian rule. If you guy ran somebody normal, who actually loved the country, supported the Constitution and Rule of Law, like John Kasich, conservative Republican of Ohio, I would have to go with Kasich. I actually doubt, Newsom will be the national nominee, as he is too far left, and the majority of the country are looking for somebody normal, for a change.
