My wife and I happened to be in town where she was born and married me. She got a copy of her birth certificate and a hard copy of our marriage license while we waited.

Want to know the real difficulty she had? It was getting her driver's license. She had cataract surgery and the new lenses in her eyes do not allow her to see with the vision machines they use to test your distance vision. She has 20/20 vision but at a distance it is only in one eye. She had to get a statement from an optician verifying her vision was 20/20 before they would give her a license in our new state. She already had a Real ID in her previous state.

Also, you lied. Anyone can fly now without a REAL ID. However, there is a $45 fee for them to do a background check on you before they let you fly.

In my Home State of Alabama you can get one for free. We also have mobile ID unit's that can be requested to travel to rural areas. Anyone claiming voter suppression pulls that lie directly from their 4th point of contact.

Today the Senate has a two-track system where there is no standing or talking filibuster, a senator can merely state in writing that he/she will oppose the bill in question without the need to take up time in the Senate running off at the mouth. What it does is free up the Senate to save some time and move on to other bills.

This isn't going to be a one-time, good deal. Do not delude yourself that the democrats will NOT do the same freakin' thing when they get control of the Senate, and the filibuster will be dead for all practical purposes. For all intents and purposes, if the repubs do this then we are going to end up as a mob-rule 50%+1 gov't where the minority will have no say or power at all. And if you don't see that as a problem, then you are one dumb SOB. Are you ready to hand the democrats that kind of control when they get back in charge?

The good news is the repubs do not have the votes in their own party to pass the standing filibuster and thank God for that.
