Mars gets further away

Yanno, we call them "experiments" for a reason.

Because that's all Starship is at this point in time. But go on, cheer for his failure.

Such spite and hatred are unhealthy.
Bingo!!! Do you know what they are experimenting with? Its actually super interesting.

As far as I know, they were planning on doing a static fire test. I haven't gotten to read the explicit details.

Theyve been experimenting with a new "heat shield". The old style is now reliable, which is why you never see manned rockets crash, but its expensive as ****. They have to COMPLETELY rebuild the rockets after each flight. This is whats standing in the way of mass space travel.

The new experimental heat shields involve a new type of metal in the nose cone, but the cone has to be formed so precisely that it cant be off by a single micron anywhere in its dimensions. Once they figure that out, we will no longer have to refurbish our rockets after each flight, which again requires a **** ton of money and man hours.

Yeah, that’s not what’s happening.

Ah, such precision is remarkable, but impossible to achieve, unless they build a small set of rockets and not an entire fleet. That would make it easier for the engineers to tailor the nose cones to the exact dimensions of each one. They would look the same on the surface, but each one has its own unique individual microscopic imperfections.

My friend, this is the pinnacle of engineering, something people like Tommy couldn't possibly hope to understand.

Mars gets further away

Impossible. Even with the expansion of the universe, planets within a galaxy do not move further apart due to the expansion of the universe. While the universe is indeed expanding, this expansion primarily affects the distance between galaxy clusters, not the distances between objects bound by gravity within a galaxy. :auiqs.jpg:

We will not be going to Mars (as in colonizing), in our lifetimes or any time soon. We can send robotic crap with AI maybe.

Most likely scenarios of any advanced civilization visiting other galaxies will involve things that replicate and can move on. Maybe some day in our future we will be able to put human consciousness or whatever into things. Maybe even nano sized things.

Musk's Mars delusions are fired by ego. HE will die and be buried on Earth -- or cremated and sent to Mars as ashes. Good riddance :auiqs.jpg:

Glad to see you're cheering for the setbacks.....
Setbacks? It's not about Musk and his company. HE jumped ahead of others seeking the same shit

Advances in space exploration and science are not tied to Musk. Get a life,. This hero worship shit kills brain cells.

??? WTF are you talking about?

I think Musk likely has a better grasp on the timeline than you. How many rockets have you launched into space?

It was a static test moron. Testing the limits will result in explosions with rockets.
He doesn't really care about any of that...one U.S. citizen is upstaging european socialism so badly that anything that distracts from that in any way is considered a godsend, "the guardian's" entire existence is based on that premise.

1 more I think and elon will have blown up more rockets than NASA did getting to the moon. Turns out the private sector isn't as good at things as the GOP pretends.

Different methods of progressing on development. Government can't use failure progression because of all the funding red tape involved. Private companies don't have that issue.
