Most likely there is more than just who was involved with Epstein. Some other entity had to run this as to get people to be blackmailed if it came to it. Ironically an economic downturn for any reason would make things like this become normalized for survival. Social justice agendas of the last half century or so would decline as mor poverty removes tolerance and anything artificially set up by corrupted government.
