Many are saying the Chiefs dynasty is done .. I disagree !

Well ? Are you sure? 2925isnt over yet? The Oline has been wiped out the last two or three years to injury, correct? How do you go to pro-Bowl if you don't play?

My mistake.

In 2024, the Chiefs had two offensive linemen selected to the Pro Bowl.
In 2023, the Chiefs had three offensive linemen selected to the Pro Bowl.
In 2022, the Chiefs had one offensive linemen selected to the Pro Bowl.

That, along with Kelce. I don't think they're in any place to complain about O-line play. Most other teams would be thrilled with that kind of talent on their line.

Did you miss the last SB? There was no O-line.

KELCE stunk it up the last two maye three years for sure. Not helping on blocking?

The pro bowl is a joke. No one wants to go? Maybe by default?

I'm out.// sigh

The Eagles defensive line outmatched the Chiefs offensive line, I agree. Still, even you have to admit that Mahomes has had better support on the line than most QBs have.

If it is, it wasn't really a dynasty. It was a short lived run of brilliance.

I'd call it a dynasty. I'm not sure when it ends but it doesn't look good for them right now.

The Patriots dynasty ended when Tom Brady left. The 49ers dynasty transferred from the Joe Montana era to the Steve Young era and then died off when Young got knocked out, although you could argue that Steve Young's era wasn't a dynasty.

In this case, the Chiefs dynasty might have just abruptly ended. One of the greatest coaches of all time, with Mahomes at his peak, and they can't even get into the playoffs? Add a significant injury to Mahomes for good measure and, I don't know, maybe their run is over.

Ried, like many coaches can peak and did with the Eagles.

I hope the Chiefs know this because he might need some help by doing something to mix it up.

And Mahomes nine lives just ran out.

I hope they come back and do well. We'll see.

I'm in my mid 50's. I'm starting to think the Lion's are NEVER going to win one in my lifetime. Ain't that a *****?

Yet I bet the ******* Chiefs win another one. Patriots too. Maybe even Green Bay. But not the Lion's.
I was 15 when the Chiefs won their first Superbowl in 1969, when Hank Stramm was coaching and Len Dawson was the quarterback, and it took them 50 years, and some ugly losses to win another in 2019.

Campbell has done an incredible job as coach, turned the team around quickly, and has only been there 5 years.

IMHO, it won't take them as long as it took KC to win a Superbowl under Andy Reid.

Oh you don't know us Lion's. Thanks for being hopeful but you don't know we are cursed. You know what SOL means? You think it means shit outta luck. In Detroit it means Same Old Lions.

Think about how many other teams are out there. Even if we are great, will we be better than the team we meet up with in the Superbowl? The odds of making it to the Superbowl are slim for every team. How many teams are there out there? And the Lion's one year are going to be the best team of all those teams? Yea right. The Lions always find a way to break our hearts. Every year is unique so as you get older you learn not to fall for it. Last year I knew they'd blow it.

You should thank your god for that 1967 championship you got to witness. You ungrateful bastard. LOL. I wish I had one to hold on to in my mind. Now just hoping to one day experience it again. That would be great. You? You're spoiled and feel entitled. That's the difference between Chiefs fans, San Francisco, Philly, New England fans compared to Lions fans. You just can't imagine being us I bet. LOL.

Actually my grandfather lived in Detroit, was a loyal Lions fan for years and when I visited him, he used to take me to see them play at Briggs in the 60's and then in later years to the Silverdome, so I remember seeing lots of fans who remained committed to the team during some very challenging years.

You are correct that just getting into the playoffs is challenging and there are 12 out of 32 teams thst have never won a superbowl

I think that the way the team has steadily improved under Campbell since his arrival in 202l, by going 9-8 (2022), 12-5 (2023), and a franchise-record 15-2 (2024), and making the playoffs 3 consecutive seasons
is very encouraging, and when Andy Reid retires, I would be ecstatic to see him come to KC to take his place.

Oh I have hope but that's just SOL. I won't be optimistic till there is no way we can blow it in the 4th quarter of the Superbowl. If we have the ball with 2:05 left and it's 2nd down and we are up 4, the other team will score a TD to win it I'm sure of it.

I hear you. The Chiefs had numerous games this season that saw them snatch defeat from what looked like a sure victory.

Hang in there, never is a long time.

Your original post was probably right on dates (as the Pro bowl is in the next year?). My bad?

But the Chiefs reportedly had holes in the o-line for the last few years. I just watch redzone mostly. Full games if iImust on mute. Void Commercials and Woke.

Excruciating painful game to watch last night. Slow PITT using every second of clock to do little. 7-3 at half?

Miami had to play with the lead. 1st possession was going pretty well until TUA threw an unnecessary pick.

MIA waits till down 21-28 points to play with urgency? They had no clock left. NFL clock rules limit plays. College has better clock rules.

Every team is going to have a weak link on their line. They deserve no sympathy as they’ve had it better than most in that department.

Additionally, can’t blame the coaching staff as they have some of the very best in the business.

Many of these genius coaches get hammered (Bellicick Reid Carrol) without a Brady Mahomes QB.
Or they lose coordinators then they slip (Reid Cambell). Reid was only pretty good at PHI with Cunningham. OAK is a disaster under "HOF" Pete. Yet he and Brady wanted Gino? Even I was on record against. And I only know what I see.

Makes one wonder how great thou really art?

If you’re trying to point a finger at Belichick and Reid, I disagree. They’re two of the very best coaches this league has ever seen.

Explain how great they are without Brady or Mahomes. They are pretty good with good co-ordiators and good ownership. You need it all to win. These coaches aren't that much better than Marv Levy or Biud Grant. More lucky or in the right place right time?

Of all the GOAT discussions across all sports the least debatable is Brady. 7 Super Bowl rings and the next closest has 4. It's not even close. That is how greatness in the NFL is measured, Super Bowl Wins.
MarathonMike

It helps to win 7 superbowls when you have ALL of these luxarys NONE of the other NFL quarterbacks ever had.:auiqs.jpg:

shady brady along with beliCHEAT same as roger clemons, barry bonds, mark mcguire, sammy sosa and lance armstrong ALL have an asterisk next to them in the hall of SHAME.

wuss brady could not even take a mere hit to the knee without going down for an entire year,he would NEVER have lasted even one season back in the days when REAL quarterbacks played the game and got thrown around like ragdogs and would NEVER have agreed to play in that day and age, therefore he isnt even in the top 20 as the goat.I have always maintained Johnny unitas is and Blaster made and excellent argument here why bart starr is the goat as well.

Granted Reid was smart enough to install mahomes and did not screw it up. They would have lost SB to SF w/o mahomes 45 yd wounded duck punt-psss caught in desperation time. It was way off target too. SF lost sight of it?

Bellicheck had to lose Bledsoe to get lucky. Good on defense he is.

and Belicheat as we both know has been exposed as average at BEST of a head coach without brady who saved his ass from being a loser coach his entire career.Had Bledsoe not been injured he never would have put in brady and they would have had another losing season,He didnt even think brady was good enough to be a starter yet in his second season and somehow he is billed as a genius all the time?:rolleyes-41:

If thats being a genius,I'm the king of England.:auiqs.jpg:

the thing that always impressed me about Reid as a coach is he lost not only his starting quarterback for an entire season in philly but his backup as well and STILL finished with a winning record that season being down to a 3rd string quarterback.when that happened,i thought WOW THIS GUYS IS A HELL OF A COACH.

yeah yeah Belicheat had a winning season without brady as well but so did todd haley of the chiefs with the same quarterback,is todd haley a good coach then? :auiqs.jpg: the patriots still had randy moss who is a game changer back then so that made all the difference in the world and instilled confidance in matt castle.

I would argue that todd haley did a better job coaching with matt castle that year than belicheack the fact he did NOT have randy moss for matt castle to throw to.

You can make that argument against some amazing coaches like Bill Belichick and Bill Walsh. Were they great coaches or were they just at the right place at the right time? I would go with the latter. I just don’t think it’s possible for an NFL team to have that level of success, for that long, without a very good coach guiding that ship.

Reid, on the other hand, had a very good career with the Eagles. He made the playoffs with them several years, including some deep playoff runs and a trip to the Super Bowl. And I don’t think Donovan McNabb was very good. He got an upgrade at QB in KC and has had even more success.

That’s just what I think. How do you explain that Belichick and Reid are shitty coaches?

I lived in the bay area. I remember Walsh took over a laughingstock program. Steve Deberg? John Brodie? Lol statues getting pummeled.

Completely revamped it. Put in Joe (willingly) who could move. Drafted Joe. Late pick? Another Purduy lol!

Blew right by the so called old guard great HOF coaches. 3 yd runs up the middle, smh.

One of the top turnarounds of all time started 81'
