Many are saying the Chiefs dynasty is done .. I disagree !

KC will have to retool
All great teams do.

Mahomes and Andy Reid are still there.

For the first time in 11 years the KC CHIEFS will not be in the playoffs.

Which means an easier schedule next year and mid round draft picks instead of 31 or 32 picks every year.

Here’s to next year. 🍻

I'm in my mid 50's. I'm starting to think the Lion's are NEVER going to win one in my lifetime. Ain't that a *****?

Yet I bet the ******* Chiefs win another one. Patriots too. Maybe even Green Bay. But not the Lion's.

Maybe.

But Kelce probably retires, Mahomes is going to need to rehab from that injury, Chris Jones isn’t getting any younger, and you’re no longer getting away with all those questionable calls.

You’ve had a nice run. It might be over.
Kelce may retire but Jones and Mahomes are only 31 [Jones] and 30 [Mahomes] still in their prime !

Prime Mahomes and prime Jones just got knocked out of the playoffs. 🤷‍♂️

Now Mahomes has a significant injury that very well may carry over into the next season. And they’re not getting any younger here.

That wasn't my question. IF, big IF, they come back and win the Super Bowl, I agree it's still on. But looks like they lost their mojo and I don't see it happening.
Ok if they make the AFC champ game? Get a the 1 seed? Win in WC weekend? What's the criteria? The Pats didnt make the PO between their first and second SB win. Was that first SB not part of the dynastic run? T

he Pats won 3 of 4 then didnt go for 2 years, then lost one, then didnt go for 3 years then lost one then didnt go for 2 more years before they won their 4th. Was that 2 dynasties or just one long continuous one?

We dont even know if Mahomes will be back for next year or when. If he's out 10 games and the Chiefs are 3-7 does he even come back for that and if he does and they dont make the PO's is that really an indication of the dynasty being over?

You seem to care since you're discussing this. If it can't be broken in one year, then how many years does it take to end a dynasty? How many shitty performances like this does it take for the dynasty to end?

I guess my point is it really makes no difference what anyone thinks at the moment. We will all know if and when the Chiefs dynasty was over this year or some point in the future by what happens on the field. Not in some random sports forum or because of what some talking head says on TV or on a POD. If everyone agrees the Chiefs dynasty is over and in 2 years repeat what they just did over the last 5 years will it have been over or just a short hiatus?

The Chiefs should trade Jones, and restructure Carloftis. Jones isn't the same guy he was when he signed that contract and he's not worth the money anymore.

The same thing should have happened with TJ Watt. The Steelers should have traded him, not signed Rodgers or Metcalf and took a down year.

I agree with you on Jones, but TJ Watt is one of the top pass rushers in the game. Watt, Myles Garrett, and Micha Parsons are the best, no particular order.

That’s what I’m asking. What’s the criteria?

I don’t know where the line is, but I would argue that if they win the Super Bowl next year then the dynasty lives on. If they have another season as bad as this next year, then the dynasty is dead. Agree or disagree?

(Assuming that Mahomes is healthy next year. I don’t think an injured Mahomes is an indication of their dynasty one way or the other if he’s not on the field.)

“What happens on the field” is kind of vague.

I dont think its over, but they have some moves to make. I figure kelce retires this year.
Even if they dont, they have left their mark on history and that will never go away.

Since the Chiefs less than dominating performances in the 2024 season [barely winning most of their games] and the devastating loss to the Eagles at the SB last year many have been saying that the age of the Chiefs dynasty has come to an end ! I strongly disagree ! the Chiefs won 15 close games in 2024 with basically no OL protection for Mahomes ! well it appears that major issue may [and I do say may ] have been remedied ! with a better O line and injured players like Hollywood Brown and Rashee Rice returning to play for the team with the Mad Scientist Andy Reed as head coach and Spags as defensive coordinator the Chiefs will be a farce to reckon with .. a much much more dangerous force than the 2024 team !

AI Overview

Yes, the Chiefs are considered to have significantly improved their offensive line by addressing the weakness exposed in the 2024 Super Bowl, primarily through signing veteran Jaylon Moore and using their first-round draft pick on Josh Simmons, and trading away Joe Thuney to become younger and more athletic. While there are still some open questions, particularly on the left side with Kingsley Suamataia possibly moving to guard, the team now has more depth and talent to protect Patrick Mahomes and compete for another Super Bowl.

Key Offseason Moves
  • Josh Simmons:

The Chiefs drafted the Ohio State tackle with their first-round pick, seeing him as a potential future cornerstone of the line, though he is recovering from an injury.

  • Jaylon Moore:

The team signed the veteran free agent, who has experience with the 49ers and is expected to compete for a starting tackle position.

  • Joe Thuney Trade:

The Chiefs traded away their All-Pro guard, making their line younger and freeing up salary cap space.

  • Kingsley Suamataia:

The second-round pick from the 2024 draft struggled at left tackle and may now compete for the left guard position, offering more options for the team.
Why the Changes Were Needed
Outlook for 2025

  • More Depth and Versatility:
The additions of Simmons and Moore have provided much-needed depth, and the team has the flexibility to move players like Suamataia to find the best starting lineup.
  • Focus on Development:
After a period of significant shuffling, the team hopes the new additions will gel to create

Blame it on Taylor :)

The Packers have lost Micah Parsons because of a torn ACL. This will make it very difficult for them to reach the Super Bowl.

He’s older and expensive. He’s on the backside of his career, the Steelers aren’t close and his trade value is only going to decline. If they were a contender or even close I would agree you keep him but they aren’t.

There’s no reason to get rid of him. He’s a foundational piece. The Steelers don’t have a franchise Quarterback, so they can afford to pay their players top dollar. If they wanted to trade Watt they probably get 2 FRP’s, but there’s no need to trade him.

Aaron Rodgers is a franchise Quarterback.
I disagree. The guy can’t move anymore. He’s on his last legs. If the Steelers could somehow get a good QB on a rookie deal then they would be a dangerous team. Right now they’re a treadmill team:

To what end though? Being a middle of the road team that loses in the first round of the PO every year (the ones that they make it) and thus never draft high enough to get the QB they need? Pittsburgh hasn't won a PO game in almost a decade (2016 divisional rd) TJ Watt wasn't on the roster. Big Ben was still the QB.

2 FRP's are more valuable than an aging edge rusher on a team that isn't good enough to win a PO game with him on the roster.

His brother retired at 34 TJ is 31.

This isn’t the NBA where there’s incentives to tanking. TJ Watt is a difference maker. You keep him and pay him a lot of money.

A lot of good qb’s weren’t high draft picks. Heck the greatest QB of all time wasn’t a high draft pick. You guessed it, Tom Brady.

Bart Starr was the GOAT.
